Saturday Bikers from the area and beyond gathered once again to mourn the passing of yet another long standing respected member of the Motorcycling community, "Breeze".There was no way all that turned out could fit into the services. But many rode out after to K&K fish camp (one of Breeze's favorites) to honor his passing in their own way. It goes without saying he will be missed.
This has been a bad year in this area and Florida as a whole for losing members of the "old guard". People who truly represented and lived the "biker lifestyle." One individual I talked with shared how Breeze , even when penniless, gave to his lifestyle 100%. I asked, isn't that how it should be, to which he responded simply "yes". Others I spoke with echoed those sentiments. Many expressed concern about the future of the "biker lifestyle". Who among the "riders" of today can even begin to fill the shoes of those such as Breeze and others who have passed in the last year? How many of todays breed of rider understand the concepts of "brotherhood" that these individuals represented? Who among the young are ready to "step up"?
It's sad that in this day of mounting assaults on the "biker lifestyle" and the Freedom and Brotherhood it represents we are losing those who most cared about, understood and lived it.
We mourn the passing of Breeze. We pray we are not going the way of the Indian. rc
