Turn the Heat Up in a new direction

While listening to coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings I started hearing commentary about the effect of "Video games" on society and there relation to this sort of incident. Had I left it there I guess I would of just assumed that the shooter was a game "junkie". However yesterday, foxy computer geek Kim Commando reports on her radio show that during a search, no gaming system or games were found. In fact, they were unable to find anyone (including his room mate) that had ever witnessed the shooter playing a video game.

That isn't to say that he never played a video game. What young dude hasn't? It is to wonder where press coverage and reality separates in this day of opinionated sound byte news reporting. In would seem news reporting is based more on agenda than on what is really going on. Case in point. Weekend before last approximately 400 hundred motorcyclists converged on the capital for ABATEs annual Freedom run without one mention in the areas major newspaper the "Tallahassee Democrat".

Maybe that isn't news. Maybe four hundred or so "bikers" ride on the capital everyday so it is no longer newsworthy. If we only read the local paper we really wouldn't know, would we?

Which is why we as "Bikers" have to either change tactics or at least add a new one (like we have the resources to do this. Now if everyone got involved we would. But hell, if we went by appearances "illegal immigrants" are more willing to fight for "freedom" than most "biker's".
And in that case, may be more deserving!).

So in reaction to the recent lies of the NTBS (see here) .
A campaign has been born on Bruce and Ray's Forum. Every time you see or hear a report (or lack there off) from the news media that contradicts or misrepresents the "facts" write them, call them, cancel your subscription. Make noise. We (Bikers) can no longer rely on most MRO's to carry the weight. Primarily because many of them in pursuit of the almighty dollar have climbed into bed with the politicians and are to busy violating the rights of their own memberships (evidenced by the ABATE state Presidents testimony before the senate transportation committee in contradiction of the dictates of his own membership).

Your rights are a precious thing. They have been fought for with blood and tears. There are people that are continuing to fight for them. What are YOU doing? Or do you care?
