Consider this.

Yesterday I was trying to research something when I came across the death stats for Divorced Motorcyclists posted somewhere below here. Well every once in awhile you (well maybe not you, maybe it's just my delusional thinking) run across something so relevant yet stated so simply that you just want to slap yourself upside the head. Maybe it was just one of them "damn" moments.

Here I was agonizing over the lack of response to the Orlando Sentinels biased, misrepresented slam against motorcyclists and the pitiful response from the motorcycle community. As of yesterday when I last checked there were 85 responses posted on the Sentinels on line forum. However subtract the numbers of posts by the same individuals and it is something like only 50+ individuals who actually took the time to post. Then subtract from that individuals who posted that are not from the Sentinels distribution area. See where I'm heading here?

The coverage area of the Orlando Sentinel is like way large. It covers high density population areas home to a large number of Motorcycle riders and also home to a large percentage of the of the members of ABATE of Florida, billed as the states only Motorcycle Rights Organization as well as home to many of their BOD members.

So heres my question? Who is doing what? And who isn't and why? Which brings me to what I started out about (it takes me awhile sometimes but I usually find my way to where I am going). In an article I was reading an unnamed activist was quoted as saying when asked why he became an activist:

"I learned that the world is run by those who bother to show up to run it"

Ok maybe you aren't as blown away by that concept as I am. But I would suggest we ponder on it a bit. Cause I ain't to sure I'm happy with the way things are being run at the moment . I suspect that there are some others who feel the same. I'm thinking a whole heap more of us need to suit up and show up! Ride FREE---Live FREE, while you can. rc
