Clicking HERE, will allow you to listen to the audio of a recent deposition given by Richard Quigly (aka "Quig") to the California Courts in his ongoing (15+ years alone and then finally with others) and increasingly winable war against the CHP and California motorcycle Helmet law. This deposition was taken as Quig is dying and is not expected to live long enough to give his testimony in court. It was video taped as he is bed ridden (however at Quigs requested the video is not shown). It is an hour and 40 mins long and better than any "biker" movie you will watch because it is real. It is funny in spots as his illness has not dulled his wit and it is very sad in spots as he struggles to give his testimony.
Now why do I say this is a must? Because in my mind it is about so much more than Helmets. While listening I kept finding myself thinking how these arguments can apply to a great many of the laws that we are forced to abide by that very few have any real understanding of. Including those who implement the law, enforce the law and then assign consequences for violating the laws that restrict freedoms and individual rights.
"Quig" is already considered an American Folk Hero by some. My bet is that as time goes on it will be proven that he was one of the Great Freedom Fighters of our times.
