Damn ya never know do ya!

Hear I am in the last number of posts bemoaning the state of the Motorcycle rights movement in this country. Well, hell not just the MC rights movement, but the average American's apathy towards freedom in general, when I check responses on the previous posts I find a post by a "Biby Cletus", ostensibly from India. There is also a website connected to the post that can be accessed here. Don't let the what looks like a Nazi swastika on the page fool ya (hmmm you may not see it since it was on the address page).

In fact the Swastika (right handed version) is one of the oldest sacred symbols known to man, having been used by many ancient cultures, including early Christians. In many cultures it simply stood for "a wheel of life", but had various meanings among various cultures (including the Hopi Indians) and didn't take on an evil connotation until Hitler developed the "left hand version".

Because of the negative connotation attributed to the swastika by the Nazis, it's use by Christian organizations has been abandoned and is frowned upon (though some secret orders still use it). But I digress. A quick scan of the dudes blog convinced me that a quick scan was going to demand time for a more thorough examination. As it is my contention that until we become intimately acquainted with different cultures and all things historical we are doomed to make needless mistakes over and over again. In fact, it is what I believe is currently happening in the the world of Motorcycle rights, individual freedoms and the rights of man in general. "If you keep doing what you have always done you will keep getting what you have always got" (primarily electronic responses from your legislators thanking you for taking the time to send them a note that they have absolutely no intention of of doing anything about other than hitting the "delete" button).

A point of relevance. Water Boarding was a torture technique developed during the Spanish inquisition. Now, it is considered a useful intelligence gathering tool by Bush and his cronies.
Before a bunch of folk jump up with their panties in a wad I would only refer you to Sen. John McCains words (who if anybody has a right to speak on torture it is him, unless of course you yourself have been tortured then feel free to weigh in) when he asked, is that where America wants to go, back to the days of the Spanish Inquisition (MSNBC last night). I'm sorry but when it comes to issues of this nature I will defer to McCain over Bush and Cronies whose wartime experience consist of shooting lawyers in the face while hunting and being stationed sometime, somewhere, doing something, with records to prove it (but no records to prove warrior status). I truly hope our next commander in chief has studied a little about war. It's obvious our current commander in chief, if he has read about Vietnam, has not learned the lessons (as apparently the leaders of our SMRO's have not either).

Which, if following the right handed cross is applicable, brings me back to the beginning.
A dude from India has stumbled across a blog having to do with Motorcycle rights and Freedoms and apparently liked it (unless of course their is a hidden agenda which is why the "third eye" should always remain open). Now I'm thinking (yepper, we, or at least I, am in trouble now) that it is to our own shame that individuals from foreign countries take a greater interest in our concerns re FREEDOM than we do (ok I do admit we pay lip service to it, and then immediately go out and try to shove our concept of freedom down another's throat).

But then some folk in other countries are just now getting a taste of freedom and have not yet become fat, lazy and complacent about it. Some, actually want it bad enough to work for it, fight for it and die for it. We (which does not include the members of armed services who despite the misguided directives of the powers to be, bravely serve with dignity and honor) on the other hand will sit back in our lazy boy loungers, in our air conditioned homes, with a cold beer in one hand and the remote in the other believing everything Bill O'Reilly (I hope I mispelled his name so he can have someone else to threaten to sue) says without question. While talking with our "Bros" on our cell phones about not knowing if we can make the local "Hooters" (someone, somewhere send me something to prove that Hooters of Tallahassee has, to date, publicly given one nickel to the fight for bikers rights, and I will print it here with a big "mea culpa" and stand on a table at the next bike night offering my apologies) bike night cause we ain't had a chance to shine the chrome on the Gods we have come to worship, with no concern, or at least action demonstrating concern for brothers and sisters who die daily.

P.S. I have a couple Freedom Fighter patches available for those that wish to play cowboys and Indians.....................Aw damn, did I get cynical again? rc

It's about being free, nothing else!

Madd Ray posted a clip of Quig on a radio show HERE. And tries to emphasize Quig's Importance in motorcycle history. He doesn't have to, time will show it to be true. Probably because of or own inaction. FOr whatever it's worth, My response to Rays post:

1.. Finished a quick listen, but will listen again more carefully.

2. Why should anyone have to bargain, plead, or make deals to get people to listen. Anyone that considers themselves A. a biker or B. a Freedom Fighter should listen.

3. Ray, We need your insight, revelations and expertise when it comes to a number of these issues. Post regardless.

4. I will expand on what I posted previously after listening to Quigs deposition: while listening I kept finding myself thinking about all the implications these arguments can have on other laws as they are implemented, enforced, interpreted, and consequences levied by persons who have absolutely no idea of the meaning of the law they are addressing. How many freedom restricting laws of this nature are there country wide???

As you posted Ray,

If we don't have freedom, and if we have to dodge inattentive auto drivers at every intersection,.... then it is our fault................... We can make a difference. Open yourselves to be inspired by this man who has only cared about your right to chose, and who has only cared about your safety right up to his last breath.

IT IS OUR OWN DAMN FAULT!!! Since listening to Quigs deposition and and contemplating the current state of motorcycle/freedom activism (in our area anyway) has made me physically ill. The fact that people (Bikers, though lately the word has a tendency to stick in my throat) must even be asked to "please" listen to Quigs deposition speaks for itself.

"Freedom fighters" my freaking ass. A BROTHERHOOD AGAINST TOTALITARIAN ENACTMENTS becomes AMERICAN BIKER AIMED TOWARDS EDUCATION (or some other perversion) and Motorcycle Awareness month Becomes Motorcycle Safety Month and with further permutations "Bikers" will become "eunuchs" (aw hell, excuse my damn ass, for the most part we already are).

Every Month should be Motorcycle Awareness Month and every Month should be FREEDOM Month. And I'm getting pretty freaking tired of preaching to the choir and trying to convince those who could care less or are paid to redefine principle.

How many people on motorcycles have been killed since the annual games (legislative session) have ended? And how many "BIKERS" (aw damn theres that sticky feeling in my throat again) even give a damn as long as it wasn't them. Why the hell hasn't the state MRO stormed the Orlando Sentinel? Aw hell silly me, that would tarnish the new and improved image of the sanitized butt kissing politically correct biker activist that has made so much progress legislatively in the last ten years that we should all be bowing three times daily towards Silver Springs and ponying up more money for lessons in effective inadequacy compromised only by incompetence.

I listened to and have read about Quig and have been inspired and ashamed at the same time.

This has nothing to do with Helmets and everything to do with Freedom. And any permutation of ABATE other than A BROTHERHOOD AGAINST TOTALITARIAN ENACTMENTS is a sell out. But then it ain't easy being a real Bro. It aint easy standing up for somebody when your busy sticking your head between your legs pretending your tailight aint dirty with the fear your illusion may be shattered and you may not be allowed to play cowboys and Indians anymore.

Hmmm, I wonder why folk don't offer to ride with me anymore? Ride anyway you want..........Im riding free. rc
