Think on it

This ( HERE) will take you to a post written by Tony Pan Sanfelipo in 1991. It was written when B.O.L.T. was in it's infancy and should be required reading for any "biker" or regular person for that matter that "claims to be" or "aspires" to be a bikers rights advocate. Unfortunate as true as it was in 1991 it even probably m ore applicable to day. Which is very sad. But then who cares right?
I recently received and e-mail re "bikers rights" that is not only not entirely true. But reads like "propaganda". Which is may be (i'm still trying to work that one out in my head) more disturbing than the untrue parts.

If we have to rely on propaganda to promote our cause, promote loyalty to a cause or organization then how valid are our own beliefs. Theres a saying , "attraction rather than promotion" which most car salesmen would probably not agree with, but all the advertising in the world hasn't stopped Toyota from becoming the number one dealer in America while GM slowly slips into bankruptcy. Promoting Freedom in Iraq doesn't appear to be working out all that well. Hell it's difficult enough to promote here at home. But then as long as the illusion of freedom is maintained how would we know.

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out
