The killings have to stop

The number of motorcyclists getting killed in the state of Florida (across the country for that matter) is has become a nightmare. And if yo live in the Tallahassee area you know (that like in most of the rest of the state) people who violate a bikers right of way and "murder" them (because thats what it is, we can no longer call intentional negligence an accident. It is not an accident. If cagers were paying attention they would not be running stop signs, turning left in front of us, rear ending us, running us of the road while on cell phones. An accident is if your brakes fail and you hit somebody. If you turn left in front of an on coming MC and kill them it's no accident it is vehicular homicide or manslaughter at best) are still getting away with a slap on the wrist and an easy fine, while someones family has lost a loved one.

Enough is a enough. It is time for bikers in the community to start standing up for your right to life. According the constitution you are guaranteed free travel on the public highways. that does not mean you have to do so with a target on your back because you on an MC. Below I'm posting a note to the editor by "Flip Top". You can use this LINK to write your own to the Tallahassee Democrat. However, letters to the Editor, you Senator, your Representative or the states Attorney (done that) are not enough, we have to demand accountability from the officers who investigate accidents and write the tickets and the judges who hear and dispose of the case. We have to fill the courtrooms with leather and the parking lots with bikes, we have to send a loud and clear message that we will not take it anymore. To do nothing is wait until you or one of your loved ones is next.

We can get boo coo bikers to show up for a poker run or a helmet rally it's about time we started showing up for downed bros/riders. E-mail me or send ideas on how to h elp and get this ball rolling. It's time to stop the talk and start the walk. Below is Flip Tops letter, I have deleted his e-mail address intentionally. rc

I just heard about another motorcyclist being killed by a careless car driver. The driver, Jeremiah Kelly, was charged (misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license and a violation of right-of-way citation) in an accident that killed another human being. He just took his ticket and went home. A suspended license? Shouldn’t he be in jail? He certainly should not have been driving. Why did he lose his drivers license? The motorcyclist did not have on a helmet. Did thedriver have on a seatbelt? Had the driver been drinking? This Killer needs to be off the streets and in prison with all the other murderers. I’m so tired of hearing about motorcyclists not wearing helmets (which is not against the law in Florida) being killed and the careless drivers going free after killing them. Especially drivers who should not be on the roads to begin with. Will the judge know that death was involved in the accident when Jeremiah Kelly goes to
court or will he just pay the fine for the citation he was given and walk away?

Jeremiah Kelly should be in jail.

I think that law enforcement officials in this town need to review the way they look at an accident involving a killing by an irresponsible driver.

THIS IS A HOMICIDE, NOT JUST A RUN OF THE MILL ACCIDENT.

FLORIDA STATUTE 782.071 Vehicular homicide.--"Vehicular homicide" is the killing of a human being, or the killing of a viable fetus by any injury to the mother, caused by the operation of a motor vehicle by another in a reckless manner likely to cause the death of, or great bodily harm to, another

I’VE BEEN A MOTORCYCLE RIDER FOR MANY YEARS. THIS KIND OF INJUSTICE NEEDS TO CHANGE.

The legislature is dragging their collective feet, nothing will happen until we take action. rc
