Sheriff Campbell, we will post your clarification and thank you for your support.
This is the 3rd version I have seen of this article. I find that in and of itself disturbing relating to how we , the public, receive information.
From the Tallahassee Democrat:
Jones and Campbell said law-enforcement agencies in smaller communities have been able to continue to provide escorts because they have less traffic and fewer intersections that need to be blocked off. They said fallen troops deserve the community's recognition but that escorts might not be possible on days when their agencies are busy with large public events such as football games.
"We're going to do them as long as it does not affect the deputies on the street," Campbell said. "Our first job is public safety."

And so if this is the case, then why has Tallahassee Police Chief Dennis Jones remained silent allowing the Sheriff to catch his heat? If you watched the Chiefs performance on 20/20 last night (and if you haven't please find a way to do so) there is no doubt that this is a man that has no business being in charge of anybody's public safety.Add to Technorati Favorites
I say AMEN!!! to that RC...you tell em...and if need be, we shall show em!
ReplyDeleteWe'll see. The proof will be if (and I hope it never does) the need for an escort arises. Personally, I'm tired of the politrickers who are "talking out of both sides of their mouth" and don't trust them one bit. I still see a need to get the County Commisioners on board with a resolution declaring their affirmative support. More push is still needed. We're 85% to our goal, but their stand seems to vacillate with whichever way the political winds are blowing.
ReplyDeleteTPD police chief was on 20/20???
