It can be a real bitch when you can drink more than you can afford. However such an obsession does lead one to exercise the few remaining braincells in creative ways. But then of course there is always the last resort. Just freaking steal the booze. But then, even that can be done creatively.
But the previous post reminded me just how easy it is to manipulate people. And for those who consider themselves to wise to be manipulated, keep in mind, they were always the easiest targets.
Now this is an experiment because I have no idea how it will work on computer.
Take a piece of paper and write down the letters IX. Now your challenge is to add one line and turn that roman numeral into the number 6.
If your a governmental bureaucrat feel free to commission a study on it. Stare at it real good and play with it on paper.
Now some have seen this little exercise. I know cause they have bought me many a beer. So if you know the answer don't shout it out o.k.
If you got it great. To those who would not admit that you ain't got it, the answer is to add in front of the IX the letter "S."
O.K. stupid right. But try it out on your friends and see how many beers you can win. You would be surprised.
However, there is a significance to this that ain't so stupid.
With the addition of one little piece of information that many do not see, the Roman numerals become letters and the roman numeral nine becomes the English letters six. oh wow whoppee right?
Well when it was first shown to me, besides feeling stupid because I didn't get it (But it wasn't done of puter either) my brain went, oh my God. Why did my brain do that you might wonder? Or not.
Cause heres the thing, whatever it is that you might think that you know. Whatever it is that you maybe 100% sure off. The addition of one little piece of information that has always existed, you just did not see it or were not aware of it, can change the truth of everything.
O.k. now I know all you intellectuals out their who are more prone to engage in contempt prior to investigation are going how elementary. But were that the case some of the FSU faculty would see the necessity for standing up and speaking out in support of our servicemen. So apparently not all intellectuals are so damn smart.
So anyway before I go off on a rant that will necessitate heading to the store for more nine volt batteries. That little exercise taught me anyway, something helpful.
When looking at something or somebody, or reading something I always ask myself, o.k. self
what is it that I do not see? What piece of information is it I do not have that could change everything I know. Are you willing to look. press is playing the governments game.
Now if you got nothing else from this little missive, you got the tools to get you a free beer. Shoot for two and drink one for me.Add to Technorati Favorites
