Be Afraid, be very Afraid, for it is a fools game and we played it

Following civil unrest and a worldwide economic depression  spurred by the U.S. stock market crash, counter-traditionalism  and the rise of terrorism (communism) many voters began turning their support towards the party with its promises of strong government, civil peace, radical changes to economic policy, and restored national pride. The  party promised cultural renewal based on traditionalism. Thinking in ways that were not "politically correct" was discouraged and often times punished.

A famous building was attacked resulting in legislation that suspended many individual liberties and increased arrest powers. An act was passed transferring legislative powers to the executive branch.

Various groups were banned and many members of these banned groups imprisoned.

States took on like measures.

Homeland Security sent representatives to each state to help insure security.

Due to various actions by state and federal  agencies labor organizations lost their power. Many who would not abide by work place rules were jailed.

The major poitical parties support of laws designed to protect National Security made it impossible for new political parties to form.

The peoples desire for Security of the homeland was so great that they finally abandoned  state powers to the federal government. Torture and even murder was granted retrospective sanction in special law regarding measures of National Defense.

Hours before the death of a top government figure emergency legislation was passed abolishing the what little left remained of a separation of powers.

Sound familiar?  It should, Hitler ruled this once democratic country until his suicide in 1945!Add to Technorati Favorites
