How Surrounding LEO puts Tallahassee and Leon County to shame

Note how the procession is approaching two cop cars. One is from the Perry Police Department and one is from the Taylor county Sherrifs office. No, they are not waiting to arrest us.  They are waiting to insure that the family of deceased Vietnam Veteran Sgt.  Wayne Morris are escorted to the Church with all due respects and honors.

No he was not killed in action. No he did not serve in Iraq or Afghanistan.

He served in the war many would like to forget.  He was a soldier that served his country. For some that is enough.

When PGR entered and staged.  Before we arrived at the family home or the church. Taylor County officers met us and escorted us through Perry, where they were joined by Perry Officers, to the home and the church blocking every intersection in between. Officers stood outside there vehichles some saluting.  They did not have to do much to block traffic, as much of the traffic pulled over when they saw the oncoming Police and American flags.

This scene is not unusual though.  It is repeated over and over again. In Wakulla County, in Panama City and Bay County, in Pensacola and Escambia County. In Georgia. In Alabama. Almost eveywhere
PGR rides,  EXCEPT,

This is a site not often seen, wait a second, rarely seen, whoops I'm sorry, never seen in Tallahassee or Leon County.

In fact in Tallahassee and Leon county attempting to honor and respect those who serve could cost you your life as law enforcement hides behind the excuse that "they don't have the resources" (yet find them for college football games)  and the overwhelminly "conservative" citizens of Tallahassee sporting American flag bumper stickers, politicians wearing flag lapel pins and officials who will climb all over each other to get an opportunity to beat their chest at a veterans event try to run over your ass.

hmmmm, do I sound redundant? Like a broken record?  You bet your sweet ass!

I will beat this drum until every slimy excuse for humanity that refers to themselves as an American yet can't stop long for a soldier while on their way to buy something made in China from Wal-Mart  hides in their offices and homes with their heads up their collective asses leaving the roadways clear to take a soldier home .  No Retreat, No Compromise, no Surrender!Add to Technorati Favorites

  1. rc..lets keep beating the "drum"...because it is just and right...the pounding of the drum resonates and its message is being heard by folk we may never know... lets keep riding proud with our American Flags unfurled... all who witness them must decide how they feel at that moment...

  2. I was riding to the FSU game last Saturday when I saw a horse trailer with one Leon County deputy in front and one in back.. they were escorting the Renegade horse team to the stadium. Granted, there were no lights or sirens, but that is still an escort. Yet they do not have 4 deputies that can escort our PGR rides.... go figure... Larry Campbell needs to go. I sure hope Loen County residents vote him out of office!
