My Apologies But I'm gonna a rant just a little re Rachel Hoffman.
A couple posts down I wrote these words:
Because now I am going to have to eat my words. Because like 50+ pages into this heavily blacked out piece of Keystone Cop vs. the Three Stooges, heavily censured chronicle of incompetence, violations of rules and procedures, systemic mismanagement leading all the way to the top, of freaking mail order certified cowboys playing cop (is this a run on sentence? Good, cause I ain't finished) like out of some episode of the "Shield" who still refer to people who use drugs with the "sixties" term "dopers" (oh Thank You Jesus I did not read the word "perp" yet) managing to lose a 23 year old college girl toting a heap of cash (all by herself we might add) within 30 minutes of leaving the freaking police station had me taking 3 blood pressure pills and 2 Klonipin while I sat on the couch going,
Because I lost all freaking touch with reality.
If these "BOZO'S " were sworn in to protect and serve then who the hell is going to protect us from them. These freaking Jackals are allowed to tote guns mind you???????????
Who in the hell were they trying protect and serve? Well if they were trying to protect the cash, whic so far seems to be their major fear, they screwed up.
If they were trying to protect the community they weren't even close. You take 13 grand worth of drugs and a 25 automatic off the streets in the morning and it's replaced by noon. The only freaking thing you have done is created a temporary spike in profits for whats available until what was lost is replace. It's a freaking joke!
Which dealers were being protected or moving in that made it necessary to go after these jokers, one whom they didn't even KNOW??????????????????????? (whoops, did that come out my out loud keyboard? never mind, I didn't say that, I swear). My God it was the Tallahassee French Connection.
They damn sure weren't trying to protect Ms. Hoffman. Hell, she was telling people she was a damn informant!!!! And the cops, excuse me for the use of that word in association with these dudes, freaking new she was and used her anyway!
Come on people, the girl was a recent FSU grad lost in the 60's. They give her a bundle of cash and put her in a car by herself (I kind of harp on that "by herself" gig cause like competent cops would have had another undercover in the car with her) send her off to meet two dudes, one of whom they apparently knew little about and she ends up dead??? Surprise.......... And then they, with their peanut sized testicles, can't man up to fucking up and freaking blame it on her!!!!!
Now we are refering to the white wash investigation. Her own lawyer says wait till the FDLE report comes out. And I will repeat my contention that even then it ain't over until they get some investigators from out of state in here to check this out.
O.K. so thats bad right? Yeah thats bad? But thats nothing compared to the dog and pony show the police dept, the City manager, the nutless cowering mayor and commisioners are putting out as a "resoultion" to the "mistakes" that were made.
Hellooooo Dip sticks, Yo Bubba's, wake uppppppp, o.k. now, follow the directions: 1. Take head out of ass. 2. Wipe your eyes. 3. Read the "other" damn headline: "AG (note: them there intials stand fer attorney general) investigators found 32 potential violations of department policies and procedures".
And where are the damn college students on this one???? Damn, is this Deja Vu all over again like at Kent, Ohio??? Oh damn man, we don't mind protestin long as it's fun. Shoot at us though and our ass is back in school workin on that MBA and it's every man for himself.
Boy damn howdy mayor, thats an awfully strong statement don't cha think. You must be one tough son of a gun.

Maybe, Just maybe, if the Chief wasn't so busy watching stuff (Like maybe sucking up to FSU maybe)
other than his damn watch. Wait a second, let me rephrase that. Doesn't his watch=his job? Isn't that what he is paid to do? Watch over the TPD and insure others are doing their job? Is that why he is called Chief?
Oh wait, hang on Katz dude. Don't you, the mayor, the city manager, and your fellow spineless ccommisioners have a little culpability? Huh Katz?
Aw but hey what the hell are we talking about here anyway. I mean it wasn't my kid. It wasn't the kid of anybody that may have read this far. So what if she got killed at the hands of Police. I mean like the rest of the parents out there would never have a kid like Rachel now would they. Hell, former Gov. Bush's kid wasn't passing illegal script was she? My God there ain't hardly any kids in the whole world what do drugs is there?
And to the FSU college dudes and dudette'es (my God my keyboard is stuttering), the future leaders of this country, the next harbingers of social change, you know the 39,000+/- of you whose most popular field of study is "Criminal Justice/Safety studies" ........................ Oh God I wish I hadn't just read that. Never mind. Point made.
Damn, I gotta go ride or take more BP meds and Klonipin. I am not convinced that I am not tripping.
Though If I ever had any doubts, I am completely cognizant now of why years ago I bought into the mantra "turn on and drop out".
Feel free to pass this around and maybe hit THIS LITTLE OL LINK THAT GOES TO THE MAYOR AND ALL THE LITTLE OL COMMISIONERs and very nicely and politely and with all due respect ask them to FIRE THE DAMN CHIEF!

ummmm, o.k. we fired one dude and suspended a few others without pay for a few weeks, reprimanded the Chief and changed a few policies and procedures. Ummmmm no we ain't bothered apologizing to the family yet, even though we were responsible for their daughters life being suspended without pay permanently. Oh yeah and it probably was in poor taste for the Chief (I use the word losely) to let them hear about their daughter was killed because she was working as a CI over the T.V. But what the hell we did change policies to insure this sort of thing doesn't happen again. Damn ain't we good?

City Commissioner Allan Katz, who has been outspoken about TPD's role in the Hoffman case, said information should have been made public well before now. And he believed the city and the police department needed to take responsibility for their role in the case.
But he did not feel the chief should lose his job or resign.
"I think that Chief Jones is a good chief. And he found himself in a very difficult situation, and it would have been difficult for anyone," Katz said. "It just happened under his watch."
