Patriot Guard Welcomes US ARMY Private Riley home

Yesterday approx. 9 Patriot Guard Riders arrived at the Tallahassee Airport to Welcome home from Iraq US Army Private Aaron Riley.
We formed a Flag-line inside the airport for the family. As they went to get in their vehicles PGR members  lined up alongside capital circle to escort the Private Riley and his family home.
As usual in Leon County PGR took care of taking care of traffic.  As usual when we crossed the Leon County Line into Wakulla County we were picked up by Wakulla County Sheriff Deputies to escort us through Crawfordville into Panacea.
Also as usual Wakulla county demonstrated their understanding of the importance of welcoming each and every soldier who comes home.
Cars and trucks pulled over and to those that did some PGR gave the sign language for thank you that has become popular as a way to say thanks to soldiers to whom you may not wish to intrude on their space.
There was an officer at every intersection  in Crawfordville as we slowed down to pass the court house lined with individuals cheering Private Riley home.  We hit Hwy 98 to head east towards Panacea and passing the fire station were welcomed by fire-trucks by the side of the road blowing horns and running sirens and again, people cheering Private Riley home.
We arrived our destination and dismounted to say our final thank you's prior to going about out business.  It was then that Private Rileys father came up thanking us and to us to try and offer the PGR money for gas for the next mission informing us he was a Vietnam Vet.
His was told, No sir, we honor not only his son but him and his family for their service.
It was then that his eyes filled with tears. And so did the eyes of a number of PGR members.
Welcome home Private Riley and Thank you and your family for your service.
And Thanks to the Wakulla County Sheriff and his officers for understanding what Leon County/Tallahassee doesn't.Add to Technorati Favorites
