POW/MIA Recognition Day

Vietnam Vets MC/Legacy Vets MC members from Tallahassee, Panama City, and areas even more distant, gathered early in the parking lot of the Governors Square Mall. Joined by representatives of other groups and independent riders demonstrating their support and expressing their respect for those who serve, have served and for those whose fates are unknown.

Tallahassee LEO escorted the group down Appalachee parkway to the steps of the old capital building. At the top of which sat a small cage of bark and twine within which sat a veteran representing Prisoner of War.

There was prayer, the pledge of allegiance, and an outstanding rendition of the national anthem, followed by what some may refer to as speeches, I would refer to them as expressions from the heart, calling for renewed and increased attention on efforts to determine the fate of those whose fates are unknown. The forgotten ones.`

The ones who the government would prefer to deny ever existed. Who would change their designation from POW or MIA to some other bureaucratic double speak through which to excuse failure to continue to act on this issue.  It was reported that Governor Christ was was supposed to show, but didn't.  In fact their were no "political" dignitaries there who may have been faced with the question, "what are you going to do to help?".

But YOU can help. You can contact your legislators and representatives and tell the (don't ask) to support Resolutions 111 and 1240 now (Congressional directory www.congress.org)!

You can contact Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the house at 202-225-4965. 414- 556-4862, or Americanvoices@mail.house.gov and demand that she place these resolutions on the floor for a vote NOW!

Then call the white house and tell them to put you through to your Senator at 202 224-3121 and tell them to get this done NOW!  No excuse's, no compromise, no retreat!

It is your duty, your obligation and should be your honor.

The ceremony continued with the "empty table ceremony" which is described in the previous post. Please read it.  For there will be many empty chairs at dinner this evening.

Another prayer was said, taps were played, and those who have served us with honor departed having made their request.  Will you honor it?Add to Technorati Favorites
