And how far will states go with gang legislation???

Ask Texas. THe following paragraph comes from:

SENATE COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION AND HOMELAND SECURITY
REPORT TO THE 81ST LEGISLATURE
DECEMBER 2008
PDF 112 pages:

Page 6-9:
RECOMMENDATIONS
Amend state law to require the Department of Public Safety to track
information on convicted gang members and to provide information to the
National Crime Information Center database so that information on
convicted gang members can be shared with law enforcement departments
throughout the nation.   Without infringing on constitutionally guaranteed liberties and
protections, amend state law to allow the establishment of a statewide database on all gang members, including those who have not been convicted of a crime, and to require DPS to work with local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to develop criteria and time limitsfor the placing of an individual in the system.

Thats right compadres . No need to break a law to get in a "gov'ment" database. But then we new that already didn't we? I guess the question is going to become, how many databases can one individual manage to get on???Add to Technorati Favorites
