Florida Motorcycle Seizure bill updates.
We want to thank John and Sam who plan on suiting up and showing up at the house infrastructure committee meeting to speak out against the bill tomorrow. On the Senate side, thanks to cowgirl we believe that we have at least one Senator that says noway on this bill. And another will be worked on tomorrow. This little ol podunk site got 497 hits yesterday and I can only attribute it to folk this bill has caught by surprise and are suiting up to take action. So we want to thank all that have taken an interest in and recognized the threat this bill is not only to us as motorcyclists but all who recognize they can go to bed one night free and wake up the next morning with laws saying hey, we can take your stuff. Imagine if this bill passes how many persons will die trying to out run the police for fear of losing their bikes?Add to Technorati Favorites
Florida Bikers that want to have a say
This may apply in other states as there is Federal monies involved. Every county in Florida has a CAST team. Community Action Safety Team. These teams all have a DOT rep and suggestions and plans can often bypass a lot of red tape. Problem is, my understanding as per this area DOT rep. is that very few of the teams have anybody representing Motorcycles. They got people representing bicycles, pedestrians, skaters, etc. But not motorcycles. This is a good opportunity to get some biker influence into places where there is none. Contact your local DOT office and ask who the local rep is. Federal money is used so there may be similiar set-ups in other states.Add to Technorati Favorites
