MARCH 16, 2008 PALM SUNDAY
Hello fellow freedom fighter(s) of the Biker Rights Movement. Interestingly enough, in my 3600 miles of driving to work each month, to and from Indianapolis [from my Cass County farm] I have done enough research, [KEPT MY EYES OPEN] to tell anybody, at any time, that driving with a cell phone has become, IT HAS BECOME, a safety epidemic for our roadways. I have witnessed drivers who I thought were intoxicated, touching both lines of their lanes, and sometimes crossing them; going 40, then 60, then 50, then 45 to 65, all in the space of a mile on US31, [usually in Hamilton county a 60 mph zone.] IT IS TIME TO QUIT LAUGHING, AND/OR WHINING ABOUT THESE DRIVERS. I shudder at these people's driving skills, usually equating it to my, or another biker, being on a motorcycle, and 'COMING CLOSE TO PINCHING OFF A LEG'!!! For us to deny this, and to not fight it, IS SUPPORTING THESE BAD HABITS. I personally feel we should begin {yesterday} in supporting a law to be written, along with, just like the UN-EXISTING R.O.W. [right of way] laws, to fight this scourge that is fast becoming more than just a few fender benders. HERE IN INDIANA, with the passing of the $10 repeal, which I would much rather pay than have people legally driving with cell phones, or taking away our right of way with only a ticket, we need to let EVERYBODY know immediately about the attached studies, and our "AIM TO EDUCATE". We really did good this year, we helped to pass legislation that creates a fund for Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries, because we "EDUCATED". Now brothers and sisters, as the Professor{rip Bob} would say, "COME TO CLASS, KIDDIES"! The attached studies, from Carnegie Mellon University, and the other studies on the Big Bend Bikers link, for the most part are scientific enough to be another of our "sharp weapons" in trying to make our roadways safe. We probably will be fighting the lobbying efforts of the Mega-Giant Cell Phone companies, and I would think, maybe, maybe not, we should be able to get some insurance companies, and other safe driving people's groups' support to get this epidemic to safe driving off of "our roadways." I love cell phones. They can cover my ass when I am afield, hunting or fishing, broke down out in the boondocks, and if somebody has a dire, or grave emergency, they can be life savers. When used properly they are as American as "not" apple pie. But they have other instances: The night my son got killed in his car wreck, they were passing a cell phone between them, and the driver dropped it on the floor, it is then when the driver hit the ditch and the car catapulted into the tree, backwards, throwing all 3 of them through the back window of the Camaro. I ask that you review these facts on cell phone driving, and realize that the traffic lane, or pathway could be cut off when YOU, or one of your loved ones, are riding on a scooter, BY SOMEBODY TALKING ON A CELL PHONE WHEN THEY SHOULD BE PAYING ATTENTION TO THEIR DRIVING! IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE I AM RIGHT ON THIS, PLEASE CALL ME UP SO I CAN TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE HAVING A CASE OF THE DUMBASS ATTACKS!!! Once again my patch on my vest says it all, I'm tired of burying my biker brothers and sisters to preserve America's right to drive stupid. I LOVE YOU ALL IN THE WIND RP MORRISAdd to Technorati Favorites
