ARRRRGHHHHHH! Adding insult to injury and facilitating the death of the BIKER

From the Journal of Business
Johnny Humphreys enjoys golfing and motorcycling, so it’s not surprising that the retired but still enterprising former top executive of Liberty Lake-based Itron Inc. would come up with an invention that seeks to merge the two pastimes.

The invention, called Bike n Golf, is a golf bag system that attaches to a motorcycle, and is designed to make journeying to and from the golf course as enjoyable as the round of golf itself for similarly conflicted dual enthusiasts.

“It’s one of those inventions driven by your need,” says Humphreys. Often torn between spending his spare time hitting the links or taking a ride on his Harley-Davidson, he says he realized that, “What I’d really like to do is both.”

He came up with the concept for Bike n Golf, but asked employee Michael O’Callaghan and Spokane sports-product designer Lars Huschke, whose fathers he formerly had worked with at Itron and, before that, at National Semiconductor Corp., to design and engineer it.

The golf bag system retails for about $300, and Humphreys is marketing it through a company he founded here last month named Bikengolf LLC. It includes two side bags, a center bag with an attachment harness, and protective hood covers for the side bags.

AND LOOK HERE, THE BITCHES EVEN COME IN CAMOUFLAGE FOR THE GOLFER/BIKER (or is it Biker/Golfer) THATS A FEARED THEY MAY GET SHOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GOLF COURSE!

DAMN THE NINE VOLT BATTERIES I'M HEADIN FOR THE NEAREST AC OUTLET. Please excuse any failure to post anything else today. When I see the money Bikers will spend on Fashion and doggy runs while their brothers and sisters are murdered daily on our highways and how our freedoms are chipped away at daily with little to no outrage from politicians or Bikers I ocassionally have to call my shrink and tell him, "time for another little rest."

Oh My God, Proof that the American BIker has now gone the way of the Hippy

On A slow day when you wondering O.K. what am I gonna have to do, make something up? Reality comes a long slaps ya in the face.

I kid you not this is true. You can follow the link for a reality check if you like and no this ain't no damn advertisement for the place. But you just watch, like the Harley Mall's (for lack of a better term) cropping up where you can furnish your house with all things Harley this may have a shot despite the fact that I hope they go bankrupt tomorrow (if not sooner).

Motopia caters to those who enjoy all things motorcycle. The facility features a motorcycle detailing shop; a full European coffee house and restaurant (with a wide selection of beer and wine); a lounge area with a fireplace, music, and plasma screens showing major motorcycle and other sporting events; and even a business center.

Yes, yes, yes, did you read that? Even a business center. How blessed can a "Biker" be to have available to him or her a "business center" where one might while away the hours perusing their portfolio whilst sipping on a double, windup, creamed, signed, sealed, delivered latte or a fine vintage glass of "ripple?" Why just the thought makes me flush with anticipation.

Motopia aspires to become one of the most successful 'third place' concepts in Dallas/Ft. Worth, and as this concept becomes lucrative, across the United States,” said Rene Larrave, president and founder of Motopia. “We have created an atmosphere that blends the comforts of home with the best of the workplace environment. This will be a place where a person can be at ease and inspired at the same time.”

Myself, I'm not easily inspired whilst at ease on the couch sipping on some wine and therre is no such thing as a "best" of a "work" place environment. However, I used to get inspired as hell with a bottle of tequila at a mud wrestling contest.

(The third place is a term used in the concept of community building to refer to social surroundings separate from the two usual social environments of home and the workplace.)

Motopia is truly an exciting concept. This is a place where passion for motorcycles and love for coffee, come together,” said Ramir Camu, co-founder of Motopia, and president and CEO of TheEyeWorks. “Motopia is soon to become the place to be and be seen.”

Oh my God am I passionately excited? Are you passionately excited? Hey I got an idea! Lets all sit around with a Latte and get passionately excited.

Tish Buchanan, manager of Motopia noted that this new coffeehouse concept has great potential. “Very rarely one gets the opportunity to take the leadership role in the launch of such a unique concept. We strongly believe that we are about to launch something that will have a great response everywhere we go.”

"Yo Tish, wanna go for a ride on my MotorSICKle? Here Tish, come on Tish, Lets go for a ride Tish (Good God my luck, from the sounds of this plasce Tish could be a dude).

In February, Motopia announced the opening of this flagship location on the southwest corner (address deleted intentionally). If any FacilityBlog readers are in Motopia's neighborhood and stop in, let us know your experience!
