1992 remains in the house temporally postponed it has had 3 amendments attached it today.
It was not on the calendar to be heard today. So it has to be scheduled and passed this week. Upside or downside depending on what side of the fence you ride, Safety or Freedom, is that if it is amended then it has to be sent back to the senate, be placed on the floor and voted on again by the Senate with the amendments.
Bull Balls and associated language has been stripped (or so it appears)
Fines for drag racing have been reduced
Seizure of vehicles used for drag racing has been changed to impoundment
Fines for drag racing have been lowered first offense
tinted windows wont be allowed without medical certification (if I read correctly)
Description of how to ride a motorcycle remains
Of concern is a sound provision that is a step closer to pipe regulation
Provision allowing a police officer to finger print you for failing to have DL in hand remains
An officer can still charge you for drag racing by virtue of an anonymous tip
motorcycle endorsement will not be required to purchase a motorcycle.
There is language I do not quite understand re the ability of a corrections officer to address DUI. Again, I do not understand this particular provision .
The stiffer penalties provision for those who injure or kill a motorcyclist remain.
HB137 (the original seizure bill) has passed the house and made it to the senate.
Keep in mind these bill are being amended as we speak. And time is short. But that means nothing, legislators will pass anything and everything to avoid staying an extended session.
You still have time to contact your legislators to let them know if you are for freedom, or safety.
