Florida "anti-gang" bill passed. Are you a gang member?

- Gang Legislation (HB 43): This comprehensive legislation contains provisions that target gang kingpins by making it a first-degree felony punishable by life imprisonment for directing criminal gang-related activity; strengthen witness protection laws by using the underlying criminal act as the starting benchmark for tampering and harassment penalties; and make it a first-degree felony punishable by life imprisonment for a gang member who is also a convicted felon to be in possession of a firearm. Many of the provisions in this legislation were based on recommendations of the 2007-2008 Statewide Grand Jury. The legislation also creates the Coordinating Council on Criminal Gang Reduction Strategies, chaired by the Attorney General, which will develop a statewide strategy to reduce gangs and coordinate its implementation with state and local agencies. The legislation will take effect October 1, 2008 if signed into law by the Governor. Sponsors: Senator Jeff Atwater (R-Palm Beach Gardens) and Representative William Snyder (R-Stuart).

Click below to enlarge and read. Now I don't want to seem picky here but it would appear if you ride a bike and dress like you ride a bike and go were people who ride bikes go and talk to others that do the same the gov'ment just might consider you a gang member. Read carefully now, cause them fellers gots a strange way of interpreting things. Are YOU a gang member????Add to Technorati Favorites

From Papa John Panhandle Chapter ABATE of Florida

(Papa J0hn presiding over a service a at the "Brotherhood" Memorial. Surrounding the memorial are the ashes of Freedom fighters now in the wind)

Below is a message received from Papa John with the instructions, print it. Papa John was President of Panhandle Chapter for 10 years +/- . He was one of the reasons I joined ABATE and one of the primary forces behind the formation of Big Bend Chapter. He is a crusty, cantankerous ol fart who if cut will bleed Freedom from the right arm and Brotherhood from the left.

Getting Educated

American Bikers Aiming Towards Education are getting just that! What did all those hard working members get for their $50,000.00 plus, paid to the lobbyist this year? Nothing as I see it. Fact motorcyclist in Florida are worse off than last year. Motorcyclist lost several freedoms from the bills that did pass. Throughout the year ABATE members have been mislead by the state president, James (Doc) Reichenbach II, who also happens to be the paid lobbyist. They were told bills were dead, while in fact they were alive and progressing, and not to bother our elected officials complaining. Told again stiffer penalties were added to bills that would have saved the lives of motorcyclist. Bills that never went anywhere, because they weren’t intended to pass. What happened was the motorcyclist in Florida were, “thrown under the buss again.” New versions of those bills were introduced and passed which took away personal freedoms, and designed to fill the coffers of government. Giving broad powers to law enforcement to accomplish that goal.

ABATE president and paid lobbyist has somewhat mastered the political process and does a good job at, gaining confidence of the membership by, “pulling the wool over members eyes.” He has slept with the enemy and caught the government disease of deception and what is in it for me. Over the past decade he has steered the organization from its original intent. That being “A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments” to American Bikers Aiming Toward Education. Taking the easier route in the political arena has never benefited anyone at anytime. Although it may seam like it does, depending on who is giving the statistics. History teaches fighting government is much harder but the rewards are far greater.

Our country was founded by fighting government, and will only succeed as long as we keep doing it, and holding those in charge accountable for their actions. Anything less is not acceptable!
