Word on the streets of Tally is that Sheriff Campbell, gets it re: the importance of honoring and demonstrating respect for veterans. Word is however that TPD Chief Dennis Jones still doesn't get it re: That Honor and Respect of servicemen is higher on the list of priorities than FSU football. He is still trying to play flip-flop re: an upcoming football game.
He does not yet understand that some are not going to play flip flop, the word is that Sheriff Campbell communicated to Jones that Campbell will do all that he can to insure that servicemen are supported.

that Tallahassee Police Chief Jones:
Has little regard for human life in general.
Has a poor grasp of history and how failure to honor returning Vietnam Vets only added to the wounds already suffered.
Has a Napoleon complex that leads him to believe he can pick and choose the policies he will and will not abide by with no fear of accountability. i.e. he won't change policy fr: escorting servicemen when they come home or won't escort them if they come home in a box if their is a football game going on. But has no problem violating every rule in the book to risk the life a a 23yo college grad. For what we do not yet know. They have yet to provide a plausible explanation.
Is so afraid of pissing off the powers to be that he can not take a public stand that in all instances servicemen will take precedence over football players as we have consistently request he do.
There is only one alternative left, Tallahassee Police Chief must admit that his continued presence as police chief contributes to divisivenesses in the community. Not only among the college population but among the veteran population who fought to insure that colleges still have the freedom to play football. His credibility is in question and his actions, or lack there off are harming not helping the community.
We stand by our call that the Tallahassee Police Chief must step down. If not out of respect for himself, out of respect for the community he "claims" to "protect".
Biker Bill suggested the Tallahassee Mayor be written and will include that he mail here. This will also be sent to the Tallahassee city commissioners who have also remained silent on this issue as well as the FSU address and now we will add Bobby Bowden to the list:
