Be Afraid, be very Afraid, for it is a fools game and we played it

Following civil unrest and a worldwide economic depression  spurred by the U.S. stock market crash, counter-traditionalism  and the rise of terrorism (communism) many voters began turning their support towards the party with its promises of strong government, civil peace, radical changes to economic policy, and restored national pride. The  party promised cultural renewal based on traditionalism. Thinking in ways that were not "politically correct" was discouraged and often times punished.

A famous building was attacked resulting in legislation that suspended many individual liberties and increased arrest powers. An act was passed transferring legislative powers to the executive branch.

Various groups were banned and many members of these banned groups imprisoned.

States took on like measures.

Homeland Security sent representatives to each state to help insure security.

Due to various actions by state and federal  agencies labor organizations lost their power. Many who would not abide by work place rules were jailed.

The major poitical parties support of laws designed to protect National Security made it impossible for new political parties to form.

The peoples desire for Security of the homeland was so great that they finally abandoned  state powers to the federal government. Torture and even murder was granted retrospective sanction in special law regarding measures of National Defense.

Hours before the death of a top government figure emergency legislation was passed abolishing the what little left remained of a separation of powers.

North Carolina law defines a "Gang"
www.newsobserver.com/164/story/1191367.html
A criminal street gang or youth gang, according to the new law, is an
ongoing group that has three or more members who engage in criminal
street gang activity. Committing crimes that would be felonies for an
adult is one of a gang's "primary activities." Members share an
identity, maybe a name, a sign or a symbol.

the law also
provides for tougher penalties for confirmed gang members by making it a
felony to belong to a gang, encourage others to join a gang, or
participate in a drive-by shooting.

From   http://law.jrank.org/pages/7073/Gangs.html

Alabama law defines gang as:
Alabama law, for example, defines a "streetgang" as, "[A]ny combination, confederation, alliance, network, conspiracy, understanding, or similar arrangement in law or in fact, of three or more persons that, through its membership or through the agency of any member, engages in a course or pattern of criminal activity." Ala. Code § 13A-6-26 (2002).

In Kentucky, an individual who solicits or entices another person to join a criminal gang is guilty of the crime of criminal gang recruitment. Ky. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 506.140 (2000).

One of the most common forms of municipal ordinances aimed at reducing gang activities appears in the form of anti-loitering laws. The use of these laws to reduce unwanted elements within a city has a long history. Many cities have enacted such laws to allow police to arrest vagrants and others deemed to be menaces to society.

Local governmental entities have also enacted public NUISANCE laws designed to allow local law enforcement to enjoin criminal activities. Like the anti-loitering ordinances, these laws have come under attack on a variety of constitutional grounds

Defenders of anti-gang initiatives contend that although First Amendment rights should be protected as much as possible, no constitutional right is absolute. (???)

Myrtle Beach is cutting their own throat with totalitarian ordinances

15 ordinances including a "City Helmet law," a 1:00 am curfew and maximum fine of $50,000.00 to any business that has to call the police more than twice in a 6 month period passed a first reading and now only have to pass a second reading to become law.  We hope that they would not pass a second reading and not become law.

The laws, if past on second reading, will be in effect year round but are aimed at the motorcycle rallies. The story can be found here.

This site has been advocating a boycott of Mrytle Beach for the last two years based on their anti-motorcycle and continuing questions re: possible racism.  We believe that all action required to stop the passage of this laws is in order on principle.  However we would also maintain our stance on boycotting Mrytle Beach, also on principle. The fact that they would even attempt to take such actions is enough for this we stay out.

Consider that in order to maiintain their obsessive desire to oppress a certain segment of population they are willing to jeapordize the economies of their own citizens.
"If the bike rallies go away, it coudl be the equivalent of a category five hurricane hitting Myrtle Beach for the month of May," says Don Cauthen, who owns two restaurants in Myrtle Beach.

We checked the ABATE of South Carolina and Horry County ABATE chapter site for news on what actions the SMRO's might be planning to combat these develpments and found no mention of them.

Should they issue a call to action we will try to keep you updated.

However these are issues that are of concern to all Americans, Biker or Not!  The continuing pattern of passage of oppressive and restrictive laws and ordinances all across this country to target specific populations or groups of people is getting damn scary.Add to Technorati Favorites
