MORGAN'S POINT - A head on motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Temple man
Saturday morning.
Around 11:15 a.m. just east of Morgan's Point, 55-year-old Alan McClure was
riding his motorcycle west along FM 2483 when he crashed head-on into an SUV
that was making a left turn onto Lake Forest Drive. McClure was taken to
Scott and White but succumbed to his injuries at 12:30 p.m. He was not
wearing a helmet.
Two adults and one juvenile were riding in the SUV, but none were injured.
Investigators don't believe alcohol played a factor in the crash. The
driver of the SUV, a Harker Heights resident, now faces charges of Failure
to Yield the Right of Way When Turning Left.
The case is now under investigation by the Morgan's Point Police Department
with help from an accident recontruction unit from Temple PD.

Motorcyclist injured in accident
A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital after an accident with a four-door
vehicle at the intersection of Palms and Rattle Run roads in Columbus
Township.
The accident happened at about 10:15 a.m.
Trooper Rowell of the Michigan State Police said the motorcycle was heading
eastbound on Rattle Run Road and a female driver of a Buick Century was
heading westbound.
Rowell, who didn't provide his first name, said the female driver was
attempting to turn left onto Palms Road and failed to yield for the
motorcycle driver.
The motorcyclist slammed into the passenger side of the Buick and flew over
the front handle bars and the car, landing in the road, Rowell said.
Rowell said he did not know the extent of the motorcyclist's injuries, but
said he landed on his front side.
He said the driver had road rash on his chest and stomach area and
lacerations to his face.
Rowell said the driver was a "big guy" and "he may have some internal
injuries."
Rowell said the woman driver will likely be cited for failure to yield.
According to witnesses, Rowell said the motorcyclist was traveling at a safe
speed.
"It looks like he is not at fault in this," the trooper said.
The front wheel and forks of the motorcycle, a black Honda, were almost
completely busted off. The passenger side door of the Buick and the front
windshield were also smashed.
The names of the drivers of the car and motorcycle were not available at the
scene.

Motorcyclist ticketed in Saturday crash [And the cager failed to yield?!?]
BATAVIA - A motorcycle driver received three tickets in connection with a
Saturday crash on Kirk Road and Pine Street, police said.
The crash happened at 4:24 p.m. involving a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle driven
by Gilberto Camacho, 27, of Aurora, and his passenger, Sandra Salazar, 25,
also of Aurora, Batavia Deputy Police Chief Gregory Thrun said.
Camacho was riding south on Kirk Road and as he was approaching Pine, he
told police, a maroon four-door sedan turned left in front of him, Thrun
said. According to reports, when he took evasive action, he lost control of
the motorcycle and crashed.
Camacho was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident,
driving without a valid driver's license and driving without insurance,
Thrun said.
Camacho and Salazar were taken to Provena Mercy Center in Aurora for
treatment of abrasions. Camacho was also treated for a fractured ankle, a
