Greg Zaffkes reaction to his mothers killer still be allowd to drive

Lora Hunt, the lady who was painting her fingernails while driving when she ran into and killed motorcyclist Anita Zaffke has plead not guilty to six counts of reckless homicide.

In her sons, Greg words (Greg runs the site Black Nail Brigade ) words:

It's funny, the words that defendant's attorney's chose to try and turn the tide of public opinion. It will be interesting to say the least to see their defense in court. Although they are banking on sympathy of the court, there is still the possibility that she changes her plea now that "discovery" has been made and they can view the evidence.

We are not looking for the "evil" person here. We are demanding an appropriate consequence & punishment for Lora Hunt's INTENTIONALLY RECKLESS actions while driving that took my mom's life.Add to Technorati Favorites

The State's Attorney asked that Lora Hunt's driver's license be suspended. The fact that she had no priors and was a Nurse was brought up. So the judge denied the request and Lora Hunt can drive wherever she wants right now. Up to Wisconsin to see her daughter (because apparently her daughter can't drive to visit her?), and on a vacation to Missouri next month. This is absolutely ridiculous!

My mother will not see me get married. She will not get to visit her grandchildren let alone see them ever. The list of things I will never have my mother be a part of is endless. Why should her killer be allowed to drive and get on with her life? She should have to think about what she has done every time she has to take the bus, call a cab, or ask for a ride.

Life taking should be life changing!

Remember now this is the case whereby Laura Hunt was originally charged with, " with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident" and it was only through public outcry that the charges were changed.

When a person is arrested for DUI (in the state of Florida) their drivers license is immediately suspended.  Is painting ones fingernails while driving any less of a crime? Yet this individual who without alcohol or drugs in their system exhibiting such poor judgment is still allowed to drive?

Who will she kill next?

At the very least before being allowed back on the road she should have been evaluated as to the competency to posses and/or own a deadly weapon. Consider the comments made by Assistant State's Attorney Michael Mermel:

the charges were appropriate because Hunt's decision to paint her nails while driving went beyond a temporary distraction into conscious recklessness.
It is apparent that the Judge in this case, Circuit Judge Fred Foreman's, has shown recklessness in his decision and should recuse himself from this case. You can write the court here:

AS most judges have blind spots regarding their judgement (pun intended) you could write the Governor of Illinois here:
