A good observation on the crash that killed Carl Davis

Whether or not the driver that killed the motorcyclist was driving while using a cell phone is an issue. Politically popular or not.
But then wait til you child not old enough to drive gets taken out by a cell phone impaired driver. Bet you will be the first to yell the loudest.

how does she turn left from eastbound into him Southbound...
That area of Thomasville Road is 3 lanes each side N & S bound, with median. She had to pull straight (east) across 3 lanes and then turn left/north.
Much less the Triumph was "in the outside" (right) lane, so this was a clear driving-blind (or cell-impaired ? when will that become a box to check on an accident report like alcohol./ seat belt ??) ROW negligent-violation.

Tallahassee Democrat biased against motorcycles-reporting on todays motorcycle fatality adds to the evidence
we pointed out the difference in reporting on this accident between WCTV and the Tallahassee Democrat. Though both speculated on the efficacy of Mr. Davis helmet.
Neither addressed the possibility of cell phone use. It is now a given (yes I know that like members of the flat earth society there are cell phone users that will never accept the science) that use of cell phones, including "hands free" while driving is equal to or greater than "driving while under the influence".
That being the case it would seem as much emphasis would be placed on cell phone use as whether or not the motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet or not. After all there is no legal requirement to well a helmet. If the motorcyclist is killed in a crash where his/her right of way was violated, whether or not they were wearing a helmet is not an issue.

Unfortunately because motorcycles provide the least amount of protection in a crash motorcyclists will suffer the greater consequences of the legislatures failure to date to address the issue.
But then of course we bikers so who the hell cares.
