Following are postings we have made regarding Leon County and Tallahassee's failure to provide escorts for servicemen. We have not included postings regarding other areas that do provide escorts. Primarily because our experience has been that most areas do. Leon Counties Next door neighbors Wakulla, Taylor and Gadsen counties provide escorts without near the resources of the home of the Capital.
We do not count the escort for the 779th as that was a show at the soldiers expense and they were not fooled for a moment (see post here).
Leon County Sheriff Campbell has verbalized his support of escorts. It has yet to be tested. Tallahassee Chief Jones initially verbalized support. However he then qualified it in so many ways it boils down to, if he is dead and doesn't interfere with an FSU football game and we have the resources and, and, and,...........
It is our contention that if you are going to throw a war, then you best drop whatever else you are doing and pay a little respect to those you are asking to fight for "YOU". Otherwise, don't throw no damn war!
