Last night I got to watch another re run of Mel Gibson in "The Patriot". Arguably one of his best flicks. The short version:
A father gets unwillingly drawn into the American Revolution through the actions of his kids. Even when he has given up and called it quits, one of his kids speaks to him from the grave and the flick comes to a heroic conclusion. If you haven't seen it, do the net flicks thing or something and watch it. Plenty of action, blood and gore to keep you from getting bored with the message.
John Adams is good too, but more message than action and very long. So don't bother with it unless you know the next couple of Bike Nights will be rained out.
See I let a little time go by wanting the message of the last few post to stay up front as motivators for any who have not yet been motivated for whom motivation is possible as it is readily apparent that attempts to motivate the majority beyond occasional lip service and bitching , if that, is like pissing in the wind.
That like Mel Gibsons character in the flick, most folk probably have to lose not one, but two kids before the "real message" sinks in. This of course discounts the Federal worker whose job is assured, has no kids and will go "la de da" through life unless assaulted by one of life's many uncontrollable circumstance that of course always happen to the other guy and never to ones-self.
Although I always know this I have a tendency to deny it. Probably kinda like why a lot of people deny a lot things that are true. Say like, oh hell, just to make people freak, "Global Warming". People do not like true if it does not fall into their version of reality. Real or not. This reality is always brought home to me in the some of the strangest ways. For example :
I was passed on some information about a Major General Albert "Bert" N. Stubblebine III
Now I generally do something stupid when I come across bits of information I know nothing about. I try to find out something about it. You know, like in case I want to believe it or not. So I googled the Major , and good lord learned the error of my ways.
It only took 0.55 seconds to get 81,300 results for the good Major. Of which I, and Lord I hate to admit it, went through approx. 300 of them looking for a legitimate source to validate or invalidate the
validity of Major General Albert "Bert" N. Stubblebine III .
Here's what I learned. The major is real and I'm stupid! Now I ain't sure at just exactly what the Major is real at as I found no "legitimate" news site. O.K. Let me qualify that, Mainstream News site that has a history of accurate reporting.
What I did find was site after site having to do with everything from natural foods, to 911 conspiracy theories, to parapsychology and "killing goats with your head sites" who have elevated the good major to "God like" stature. So yes, the Major is Real. Real popular. And I must apologize here to any of the sites I lumped in here that may be reputable and laughing their ass off on the way to the bank.
While reading some of this stuff I couldn't help find myself wondering, my God, CNN and FOX news (Fair and Balanced) have missed this story? Damn the internet is all over it. I must call them right away. But then I thought, nah, they are the mainstream press and part of the conspiracy to keep the truth from us and the secret service has warned them, do not report on the Major. Nobody reads those other sites (after all where is PETA on the killing goats with your head gig).
And there is where I had an epiphany recognizing the absolute level of my (and sorry dudes/dudettes) some of my blogging friends stupidity.
You see some of us bust our ass trying to verify that which we print that illustrates how the government (and the banks) are slowly changing America from a free Republic to a Totalitarian Oligarchy. Our sources are generally are generally not hidden. Just hard to find in the News junkyard.
So we find them, then try to verify them, then try and make people aware of them, then try and motivate folk to take a little action along the lines of the action engaged in to establish this country and give people the right to try and kill goats with their heads.
When what we should be doing is posting "You Tubes" of Major Stumblebine (the third) and hawking books on "how to kill goats with your head".
After all seems to be a lot of action in that arena. Hell it might be what the Governor and the Lt. Governor of Florida is reading about and is why it is taking him and the others so long to respond to our, "how come ya'll lie and say you honor and respect our troops when you really don't" letters?
Well hell it might even be the other story the news media is investigating along with the Death of Micheal Jackson which of course is more important than gradual but steady loss of our freedom.
It might be that the Tea parties that were attended around the country wore out the activism spirit of our fine populace and they are resting.
So I decided to test a theory. I googled, "people who would fight for their rights."
In .24 seconds I got 52,000,000 responses. Well since the third response was
Kenya: Ogiek forest people fight for their rights
I thought I'd best qualify my search so typed in:Americans who would fight for their rights
and it dropped down to 11,700,000 responses in .28 seconds.
O.K. now I ain't no genius but Admiral, Major, General, whatever the hell he is Stumblebine taught me something.
I don't have to go through 300 responses to know that's bullshit. See they didn't have computers during the Revolution.Add to Technorati Favorites
