Update: Project bring a soldier home for Christmas-Tallahassee

6 of the need 7 tickets have been purchased to bring 7 local servicemen home for the holidays. About 2 grand is still needed.

WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!  So far, we have raised money to bring six of the now 7 soldiers home.  We have purchased tickets for five of our guys and are waiting on sky miles (which doesn’t seem to be working out very well because of Delta Airlines - that's another whole story in and of itself).  If we can’t get Delta to jump on board by tomorrow, we will be forced to purchase Garth's ticket.  I have the need to put his (and my) mind at ease.

WE CANNOT THANK ALL OF YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR VETERANS AND FOR OUR SOLDIERS WE ARE GETTING HOME.  IF NOT FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NOT BE THIS FAR INTO THE MISSION.  ALTHOUGH OUR JOB WILL NEVER BE DONE UNTIL WAR NO LONGER EXISTS, WE SO GREATLY APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED THIS CAUSE BY EITHER DONATING MONEY OR PASSING THIS ALONG TO YOUR FRIENDS.  PLEASE CONTINUE TO PASS ALONG THE WORD.  OUR WARRIORS NEED ALL THE HELP THEY CAN GET . . . BESIDES, THEY DESERVE IT.  Please remember to visit the "Info Page" for more information on how you can become involved.  Thanks again and will see you on the wall soon.

Bring a soldier home for Christmas Update

We are reposting our post of 10-8-09 Along with an update. Don't you wish we could bring all our soldiers home?  We can't, "YET".  However we can, as a community, show that we care by at least bringing a few home to spend the holidays with there families:

Original POST:
TALLAHASSEE (and anybody else from anywhere else that would like to see this happen)!

The Vietnam/Legacy Vets MC  M Chapter and the  Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #96  are spearheading an effort to bring at least 6 (more if the community will support it) soldiers home for the holidays.

Their are currently six soldiers identified who based in Germany are currently deployed in Iraq. They have been in Iraq since thanksgiving day, 2008. Some are on their second, third and fourth tours of duty.

The military will fly them back to their stations "IF" they are able to get home.  The "IF" is based on their ability to get a ticket home. Tickets home are going for $1200 to $1600 per soldier (and going higher as the holidays get closer) means that if the 6 are to come home they will need YOUR help and like NOW!

It does not matter about how you feel about the war. It is not about the war. It is about standing for those who stand FOR YOU.  Yes the economy sucks but THIS IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

CAN YOU THINK OF A BETTER CHRISTMAS PRESENT TO GIVE TO YOURSELF THAN TO GIVE BACK TO THOSE WHO GIVE TO YOU??????

So even if you don't live in the Tallahassee area. If you live anywhere and just want to do a good thing send your Tax Deductible checks or money orders to:

Capital of Florida continues recent history of shaming veterans

Maybe we missed it in our agonizing perusing of the areas prominent local newspaper, the Tallahassee Democrat. Then again, maybe we should rethink the the term prominent.  Whatever, if there was any disappointment regarding the canceling of the Veterans day parade due to a chance of rain, we did not find it in the democrat.

We did find it on Local TV news station WCTV.  Which considering their ability to catch what the Democrat misses may wish to consider publishing a local newspaper. After all, they would have no competition.

Leon County had planned its biggest veterans day parade in years with five high school marching bands and more than 60 entrants, but with a chance of wind and rain in the forecast, the county veterans services director opted to cancel and as far as we know there are no plans to reschedule.

"I'd have flags with me and I'd have my girl and I'd have my dog and I'd be cheering on our veterans," Gulf War veteran Matt Willard said as he stood along the empty parade route Wednesday.
Gulf war veteran Matt Willard is still seething about Leon County's decision to cancel its Veterand Day Parade. "Since I am a veteran, I felt like I got punched in the stomach to be honest with you. It's the one day we have all year and as you see, it's not really that bad out," Willard said.

The folks at VFW post 3308 planned to get together early this morning to decorate their float. Obviously that didn't happen.

"There's not even a little rain, but even if there was, I remember years ago we did have some rain on one of our parades and it was not a big deal. We were just there to celebrate our day and to recognize the veterans in this community," said Commander Mark Alvarez.

Adams Street is quiet ... the barricades set to the side ... no crowds, no flags, no veterans and as luck would have it, no rain either.

Tuesday afternoon, Leon County's Veterans Services Director Dale Keen decided to cancel the Veterans Day Parade due to inclement weather saying "after we learned that several parade participants, including the marching bands, would not be able to take part, it became apparent we
wouldn't have had the oportunity to appropriately honor our local heroes."

Leon County Commission Chairman Bryan Desloge says hindsight is now 20-20 and "someone had to make the decison."
For veterans like Mitch Delong, whose brother is deployed in the mountains of Afghanistan right now, it's clearly not a popular decision. "Our boys fight whether it's raining, snowing, sunshining and it wouldn't have hurt any of us to stand in the rain today to give them support," Delong said.

We tried repeatedly to reach Veterans Services Director Dale Keen today for comment, but he has not returned our calls.

So are we surprised. Well hell no of course not. The only time the Soldiers/Veterans of the capital city of Florida receive what even looks like respect (though the soldiers are not fooled) is when the Gov needs a photo opp.

But then the holding of the Veterans day parade in Tallahassee Florida is an exercise in disrespect even when they don't cancel it.

Consider "Springtime Tallahassee"," dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Tallahassee history." Which goes slap down the the middle of the main drag in town passing the Capital of Florida on it's Journey.

Now consider the Veterans day parade, dedicated to those who have served to keep the citizens of Tallahassee free. Relegated to the side streets behind the capital so as not to interfere with business.

Ah, but the veterans day parade only honors those who have served, been injured or lost their lives for there country and our freedom  whereas Springtime Tallahassee serves to bring in "MONEY".

over 75 jobs are positively effected through the generation of $839,000 worth of wages paid to employees servicing our visitors. Over five million visitor dollars are spent in the area during the weekend. In addition, one-third of all hotel rooms in Leon County are filled with Springtime Tallahassee visitors anxiously anticipating the beginning of the festivities.
But of course most of these jobs and wages are low wage service type jobs and do we see any expenditures for police services or trash clean-up services? But then what the hell, money is money and blood and guts spilled on the battle field is blood and guts is spilled on the battle field. Not on the streets of Tallahassee (thanks of course, to our veterans). So it should be apparent that in Florida's state capital, money trumps blood and guts spilled in the name of freedom.

Consider the absence of an American Flag at the Korean war memorial. Who had to raise the money to rectify this oversight. The Tallahassee populace? No, the veterans themselves had to raise money for a flag to honor veterans. An American flag!  A suggestion, change the name of the American Flag to the Veterans Flag as they are ones who truly seem to understand it's meaning.

But less one chancing upon this first site think that this is the first "fuck you" sent the veterans by the city of Tallahassee, we suspect we can demonstrate this is ongoing and a disgrace. Consider the following links and then ask yourself who is to blame for this state of affairs, WE ARE, the surrounding area ungrateful citizens who fear a drop of rain on a flute.  Good God I'm going to puke!

Another "forward" another pack of lies from the Unamerican Agenda

Is there such a thing as a "double epiphany"? I ask this because in a conversation with a fellow activist we both accepted the fact that most Americans are:

1. Happy with their lot or,

2. Do not understand or value "Freedom" and the energies that must be expended to keep it or,

3. Are incapable of embracing the truth or,

4. If capable will spend little to no time looking for the truth or,

5. Having learned the truth will still follow the corporate/government alliance to the depths of hell and

6. There is a segment of the population that would throw a revolution over lies  or,

7. All of the above.

Being one prone to depression, the overwhelming reality of the above sent me into a tail spin, I am ashamed to say, led me to adopt the short version of the "Serenity Prayer" = "Fuck it".  Leading me, I suspect to the delight of some, to be absent from these pages for a short period.

Then I get a "forward" (you know the one I mean, we all get them) in the E-box that astounds me in it's craftsmanship.  However what consistently amazes  me even more is the number of Americans that will that will believe in a will crafted lie, take the time to pass it on, yet will do little to nothing to verify what it is they are passing on.

Being an advocate of a NEW AMERICAN REVOLUTION (non violent of course) these forwards scare me for two reasons:

1. Any attempt at a revolution built on lies will fail

2. Were a revolution built on lies to succeed, what would the current government be replaced with?

More of what we already have? More lies and deceit?

Following is the Forward I received, which I am sure many of you have also received. Following that will be a breakdown as to what is true and what is not. Because see, that is part of the game. "Lets throw a few half truths in there to fuel the hate and vitriol there by focusing blame where it does not belong:

The Forward:
Subject: Fw: HB1388 PASSED - DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?

Wake up folks...it gets more scary every day.

       HB 1388 PASSED !!

You just spent $20,000,000 to move members/supporters of Hamas, a terrorist         organization, to the United States ; They get housing, food, the whole enchilada.

    HB 1388 PASSED

Whether you are an Obama fan, or not, EVERYONE IN THE U. S. needs to know.....

Something happened.... H.R. 1388 was passed, behind our backs. You may want to read about it.. It wasn't mentioned on the news... just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN
    screen.

Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA . This is the news that didn't make the headlines...
By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza

The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States , was signed and appears in the Federal Register.

Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Let's review....itemized list of some of Barack Obama's most recent actions since his inauguration:

His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here within the U. S., but within the world, using U. S. tax payer funds.

He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and the "terror attack" on 9/11.

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense.

These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

Doubtful? To verify this for yourself: www.thefederalregister.com/d.p/2009-02-04-E9-2488

PLEASE PASS THIS ON... AMERICA NEEDS TO KNOW

WE are losing this country at a rapid pace.

The inconvenient truths left out of the forward (Read if you have the intellectual fortitude. Dismiss if you do not want your delusions shattered. Comment if you have the cajones!):

Analysis: This message promotes the false impression that Congressional bill H.R. 1388 (sometimes referred to as ("H.B. 1388"), which passed the House and Senate in March 2009 and was signed into law by President Obama on April 21, 2009, allocated $20 million in taxpayer funds to resettle Hamas refugees in the United States. It did not.

Entitled "The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act," H.R. 1388 reauthorized and revised existing federal public service programs, including AmeriCorps, essentially increasing their funding and scope (and, contrary to another set of false rumors, it did not make public service mandatory). Far from being passed "behind our backs," the bill was much publicized during House and Senate debates and enacted with bipartisan support.

(Note: Bills debated in the House and Senate are public record. Congressman can amend the record subsequent to debate to alter their comments for the record. that being said. The process is public, carried by the press and is in no way done behind our backs.  Be more concerned about the relationship between our banks and our government. This is being done before our backs).

(NOTE: read the whole bill here:  http://tiny.cc/9eZiN or

http://urbanlegends.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=urbanlegends&cdn=newsissues&tm=160&f=00&su=p504.3.336.ip_&tt=2&bt=0&bts=0&zu=http%3A//thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z%3Fd111%3Ah1388%3A)

That said, it is true that President Obama signed a memorandum to the State Department (not an executive order, but comparable to one) in January 2009 authorizing $20.3 million in humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees in Gaza. However, as anyone who received the above email could have easily ascertained for themselves, the memo not order, request, or even suggest that said refugees be resettled in the United States.

The memo can be found here: http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/E9-2488.htm and is as follows:

[Federal Register: February 4, 2009 (Volume 74, Number 22)] [Presidential Documents] [Page 6115] From the Federal Register Online via GPO Access [wais.access.gpo.gov] [DOCID:fr04fe09-106] Presidential Documents [[Page 6115]] Presidential Determination No. 2009-15 of January 27, 2009 Unexpected Urgent Refugee and Migration Needs Related To Gaza Memorandum for the Secretary of State By the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, including section 2(c)(1) of the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act of 1962 (the ``Act''), as amended (22 U.S.C. 2601), I hereby determine, pursuant to section 2(c)(1) of the Act, that it is important to the national interest to furnish assistance under the Act in an amount not to exceed $20.3 million from the United States Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund for the purpose of meeting unexpected and urgent refugee and migration needs, including by contributions to international, governmental, and nongovernmental organizations and payment of administrative expenses of Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration of the Department of State, related to humanitarian needs of Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza. You are authorized and directed to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register. (Presidential Sig.) THE WHITE HOUSE, Washington, January 27, 2009 [FR Doc. E9-2488 Filed 2-3-09; 8:45 am]

Note: It speaks of humanitarian needs of of refugees and victims!

Practices such as this have been implemented by numerous administrations through out the cold war and other conflicts as part and parcel of winning the "hearts and minds" of those who are oppressed.  Would you rather see the refugees being assisted by America  or by Hamas?  Propaganda dictates that we assist the refugees lest their bitterness towards us becomes more pronounced. It is an age old subterfuge utilized by many governments including ours over history.

The "itemized list" of other actions taken in the early days of the Obama administration is roughly accurate, albeit cherry-picked, decontextualized, and spun in a manner consistent with the overall political bias of the message.

His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here within the U. S., but within the world, using U. S. tax payer funds.
In fact Obamas first two executive orders were:

The first executive order lays out Obama’s ethics rules. Executive branch employees will be prohibited from accepting any gifts from lobbyists. Anyone who works for the administration will not be allowed to lobby the executive branch for as long as Obama is president. It also prohibits lobbyists hired by his administration from dealing with agencies on matters they lobbied about for two years.

The second order revokes a 2001 executive order signed by former President George W. Bush that limited release of former presidents’ records, and replaces it with new language aimed at more transparency. Bush’s order gave former presidents broad authority to claim executive privilege and to designate others, including family members who survive them, to exercise executive privilege on their behalf. Obama’s order revokes the survivor provision and gives ex-presidents less leeway to withhold records.

In remarks prior to the signing, Obama said, “For a long time now, there’s been too much secrecy in this city. This administration stands on the side not of those who seek to withhold information but with those who seek it to be known.”

At the ceremony, Obama also signed a memorandum freezing pay for all of his staff making more than $100,000.

Executive Order 13,233,

He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

Yes he ordered Guantanamo Bay closed. Just as John McCain his opponent for president advocated for. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/01/12/obama.gitmo/
Certain individuals held in Guantanamo were held in violation of the geneva convention and without the constitutional provision of Habeaus Corpus. Individuals were held for years in Guantanamo with no charges being filed against them.

John McCain and Obama both recognized that the way we treat prisoners would dictate how our soldiers would be treated by the enemy.  Furthermore he requested that further interrogation be conducted as per the "Army field Manual"

He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

Yes he ordered secret "black site"  prisons closed that were engaging in questionable activities. In other words, he acted responsibly. Many Military leaders backed him
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28788175/
He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and the "terror attack" on 9/11.
the charges were dismissed "without prejudice," meaning that they can be reinstated at a later date. So the claim that the president "withdrew all charges" is misleading. Al-Nashiri will remain in custody.
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/02/president-oba-2.html

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense.
FALSE:A January 30 article published on the US Department of State website explains what the money will be used for:

President Barack Obama has authorized the use of $20.3 million from the U.S. Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance (ERMA) Fund to address critical post-conflict humanitarian needs in Gaza. U.S. Government support for humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees and conflict victims now totals nearly $120 million in FY 2009, including nearly $60 million in Gaza.

Of the $20.3 million in new ERMA funds, $13.5 million will go to the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), $6 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and $800,000 to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). These organizations are distributing emergency food assistance, providing medical assistance and temporary shelter, creating temporary employment, and restoring access to electricity and potable water to the people of Gaza.

His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here within the U. S., but within the world, using U. S. tax payer funds.
Despite the fact that this statement is also not entirely true (see here) the subject of abortion is an entirely different issue from the body of the rest of the forward.

The forward as I received it started with:

Take back America!!!!! and we wonder how the terrorist attack on Ft. Hood happened?!!!!!

I vehemently agree with the "Take back America" stand. Though I must wonder how the shooting at Fort Hood relates to anything in the forwarded message post.

Do we  know that Nidal Malik Hasan was a terrorist as it has come to be defined today?  What we do know is that he was a lousy employee whose job performance sucked and had he worked for a legitimate private corporation he would have been sacked a long time ago (see here) thus avoiding the blood shed.

Or is this akin to other wackos who have gone postal over the years and shot up restaurants, brokerage houses, abortion clinics, schools, and cities or is this different because this individual had a Muslim name? Do we know yet?

What about these people (From the Independent 1999) :

In July, a frustrated day trader in Atlanta killed 12 people including his own family and customers at two different brokerage firms.

A week later, an office worker in Pelham, Alabama opened fire on his colleagues, killing three.

And six weeks ago, a deranged loner in Fort Worth, Texas, stormed into a baptist church in the middle of an evening prayer service and opened fire, killing seven people before turning his gun on himself.

THE YEAR OF THE SHOOTINGS

16 September: Larry Gene Ashbrook, 47, from Fort Worth, Texas, opens fire on Wedgwood Baptist Church, killing seven people before shooting himself.

14 September: 42-year-old Dung Trinh is charged with opening fire at a hospital in Anaheim, California, killing three employees.

10 August: Buford Furrow from Washington state opens fire on children and teachers at a Jewish community centre in Los Angeles, injuring five, and kills a post office worker.

29 July: Mark Barton, an Internet trader, kills his family and shoots 12 people in Atlanta brokerages.

2-4 July: White supremacist Benjamin Smith, 21, goes on a weekend killing spree in the Midwest, selecting blacks, Jews and Asians in the Chicago area before taking his life.

20 May: T J Solomon, a 15-year-old student at Heritage High School in Atlanta, is accused of firing 14 shots from a rifle and a Magnum handgun, wounding six fellow students.

20 April: Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold use firearms and explosives to attack Columbine High School, Denver, killing 12 students and a teacher before killing themselves.

15 April: A gunman walks into the Family History Library in downtown Salt Lake City, killing two people and injuring four others before being gunned down.

6 October 1998: Joseph Neale, a disgruntled former employee of the city of Riverside, 60 miles east of Los Angeles, opens fire at city hall, injuring the mayor and four others before being overcome by security.

May 1998: Kip Kinkel, 16, of Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon, kills his parents then opens fire in the school cafeteria, killing two and injuring 20.

March 1998: Two teenage boys open fire on their classmates at a school in Arkansas, killing four pupils and a teacher.
After all these sprees occurred before 9/11

Isn't it amazing how a country stolen from it's original inhabitants and then built on  the backs of immigrants and slaves can continue the hate, vitriol, bigotry, and discrimination?  Not really, when you consider that roosters do come home to roost then you understand how it is the government can now turn on and eat it's own relying on ignorance to fatten the sheeple.Add to Technorati Favorites
