But that didn't stop the Road Runners Annual Chili fest from being another hot time. Besides, get enough beers and some of the hottest chili this side of Mexico in ya and it's all good. Especially when all the proceeds go to charity.
This event, as we noted last year, continues to get larger. This will be especially evident to the cagers who will return to where they thought they had left their vehicles only to find that the tow truck done got em.
There were however a few enterprising home owners in the area that did put 5 dollar parking signs in their front yard who I suspect made enough to buy more than a few cans of chili.
There were representatives from a number of organizations out there vying for Top Chili mixologists and I suppose someone even won the prize. For me however, and I suspect a few others it was more about havin a good ride, some good conversations with some good folks and appreciating the "atmosphere". But hey, I like Chilli to.
