the gangs are coming, the gangs are coming, whoops sorry, its the social engineers
The front page of Sundays Tallahassee Democrat was spooky. The only thing missing was that funky scream they play over and over and over again on the History channels "Gangland". Artistically however it was quite good. All the way down to the little icon that read "Tallahassee Democrat Sunday PRINTEXCLUSIVE". We would like to thank them for that little icon lest we mistakenly think we were reading the radio. There was also and "editors note" advising us this was part of an occasional series.
One can only assume that is because, as the paper reports, there was "one" gang related killing in Leon County last year. So it would seem that when the "occasional" gang problem crops up, then they will write the "occasional" story about it and refer to it as an "occasional" series.
With any luck this will help them sell the "occasional" paper.
Do not get me wrong. Senseless deaths are senseless deaths and we haven't turned a totally blind eye to the subject of gangs as evidenced by some of our posts that can be found here:
Gangs (there are only 8 pages of posts. feel free to review a few Democrat).
We do find however that if one is worried about being senselessly taken out the may be better advised to be on the look out for cell phone abusing vehicle operators than gang members. But then you can only get so artsy fartsy sensationalistic about cell phones.
There were though, some items in the article that actually concerned us. Maybe confused us is a better word. Let us share a few with you and maybe you can help us figure it out.
One of the first things we learn is that out of the "more than 1,040" inmates in the Leon County jail approx. 42 are either "known gang members" or associates. Now the paper reports there are 18 "identified gangs" in Tallahassee with at least 228 (not 227 or 229 mind you) members or "affiliates".
"The Leon County Sherrifs department lists 400 men with gang connections????????"
Are you confused yet cause I am. The math is all over the place. Which means the actionable intel sucks. Especially when complicated by this statement, "Authorities are to quick to add that for every "official number" of gang members indentified in the city, county or jail, the are believed to be an additional three or four who have yet to be counted."
AHA! the notorious hidden or non-existent gang members. Whoops, wait a second, we can not say non existent. The Tallahassee Democrat just told us they are "BELIEVED TO EXIST." Oh damn, wait a second again, they used the words "believed to exist" meaning well they may or may not exist. In fact we do not know if they exist. We just believe they exist. And that kind of thinking gets really scary my friends when you consider that "Weapons of Mass Destruction" were believed to have existed in Iraq serving as a good enough excuse to send kids to a desert to die. Funny thing though, we got the weapons of mass destruction gig wrong bur it is a fact now that there "IS" plenty of oil over there. A bunch of which will be heading this way.
Now until now we have been having fun with the insanity of this story and would like to continue to do so as much of it is totally absurd. More of which we will point out after we make the statement that this type of "so called reporting" is the most dangerous type of propaganda any news media can engage in.
It creates enemies where enemies do not exist. All for the purpose of obtaining money for social programming by creating and then playing into those fears. Read the 8 pages of posts we have on "gangs" we linked to. It's like the run up to the war in Iraq. Our enemy (former ally Osama Bin Laden. Also check out Seibel Edmunds for some freaky reading) was claimed to be in Afghanistan. So where did we first send our troops to die? Iraq. Giving Bin Laden plenty of opportunity to elude us.
Now I am sure that there are some that are going to think we are taking a giant leap comparing the Democrats piece on gangs to The demonization of Iraq leading to it's invasion. Remember, we mentioned 8 plus pages of similiar type posts that come from various parts of the country.
Governments and People in power have a long history of creating enemies where none exists. Just ask any one the 6 million + killed by Hitler, or any number of "witches" burned at the stake in this country or any of the enimies of the the catholic church, to include such offenses as:
2.6.1 Witchcraft
2.6.2 Blasphemy
2.6.3 Bigamy
2.6.4 Sodomy
2.6.5 Freemasonry
the number of which is not countable. And they even invented some fairly ingenious ways to kill the "Alleged enemies".
These are the paths politically correct speech and "thought" lead us. When we presume those to be different to be dangerous we commence to building the bars that will enslave us and the excuses to "do away with that which causes us fear"!
When we do not ask questions like, "How can the Tallahassee Democrat write 2 pages, call it a "print exclusive" and present so many could be's and so little actionable fact?"
For instance:
Now as a person who has done a few tatts I can tell ya one or two things:
1. Depending on location various tattoos can have different meanings at different times such as spider webs and/or choloe tears.
2. TRUE STORY: I once tattooed a flower and tribal anklet on a young lady that worked in a Florida Prison. She was confronted by Prison Officials, made to remove her pantyhose and accused of having a gang tattoo??? I will admit this was a number of years ago. But Flowers and tribal??????? If she was a member of the notorious "daisy waves" I swear I was not aware of it.
The other scary point made in the article is that "there are no known Caucasian gangs in the area"???
Hmmm well let me see,
FROM INSIDE FSU FOOTBALL
well damn, they where the same clothes, use the same hand signals, are involved in crime and are led by a white man! by the criteria set forth in the Tallahassee Democrat and Florida Statute 874.03. The Florida Seminole Football team is the largest, most dangerous gang in the area if not the state!
and falls under the rico act
And the play book is right their in the article:
Let me see if I can kinda guess as to where this is all going to lead:
Of course municipalities will have to institute ordinances regulating the dress, movement and actions of people (they already do).
The courts will become over burdened with "gang" members and diversion projects will have to be developed (this is happening).
Gang "treatment" centers may open.
Paid staff will have to be found to "change" these people.
Licensed mental health professionals and others fearing competition from street people who know more than they will insist that these paid staff members must pay to receive training.
Various "Gang" certifications will be devised the number of which will dictate the amount of money
a "gang worker" can make and whether or not they can hold "supervisory" positions and such.
A whole new industry will be built on steering children into mind changing, brain washing programs sanctioned by the government with the help of brain washing sensationalized garbage known as propaganda such as this waste of paper and ink distributed Sunday by the Tallahassee Democrat.
Follow the money as many industries have to Iraq.
AND MORE PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE TO BE KILLED IN THE STREETS OF FLORIDA BY DISTRACTED DRIVERS THAN ANY GANG!
NOTE: Now that we have that out of our system we wish to state that we are not denying the fact that "gangs" in some places are a problem. They always have been. But creating fear and then creating a knee jerk reaction to it is an irresponsible and dangerous path to take.
So we can't forget the FSU Seminoles!Add to Technorati Favorites

For instance:
There is an 11 point check list for identifying gang members, according to Florida Statute 874.03.
Meeting only two of the 11 requirements (adopts the style of dress of a criminal gang, adopts the use a hand sign used by a criminal gang, has a tattoo identified as used by a criminal gang, etc) is enough to validate a person.
Now as a person who has done a few tatts I can tell ya one or two things:

"... Florida players have punched women, stolen property and been involved with guns and drugs."
"... Florida players have punched women, stolen property and been involved with guns and drugs. Yet nobody on ESPN is so much as reporting this."
Sun Sentinel sports columnist Dave Hyde regarding University of Florida football team who over last four years have had 23 players arrested

And the play book is right their in the article:
Deputies at the Leon County Jail also took part in a statewide gang training. Tracking gang members at the jail has become a high priority, said an officer (Name left out intentionally).
We have a higher percentage of gang members than I suspected, the officer said, there everywhere. It was shocking really .I once worked in a field where the most money was made by creating then "treating" fears and problems where none existed. Of course that is unethical. As is attempting to profit through yellow journalism. I note that the Tallahassee Democrat left out any money figures re state, federal and local monies provided to address the problems of gangs.
Let me see if I can kinda guess as to where this is all going to lead:
