AMERICA was created "by the People for the People."
Thursday the Supreme Court signaled that in actuality though it may have been created by the people it was created for the "corporation."

Let us not be fooled. The only thing this ruling as done is to legitimize and possibly strengthened what is already common practice, the buying and selling of politicians by granting Corporate entities (to include Unions who of course will be out spent) the status of individual citizens."The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that corporations may spend as freely as they like to support or oppose candidates for president and Congress..." Click or go here for details from Google News: http://tinyurl.com/y8d4x3y OUR REPUBLIC HAS BEEN LOST IN A CORPORATE COUP D'ÉTAT! Excerpt from Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission: The Stevens Dissent "In a democratic society, the longstanding consensus on the need to limit corporate campaign spending should outweigh the wooden application of judge-made rules. The majority's rejection of this principle 'elevate[s] corporations to a level of deference which has not been seen at least since the days when substantive due process was regularly used to invalidate regulatory legislation thought to unfairly impinge upon established economic interests.' Bellotti, 435 U. S., at 817, n. 13 (White, J., dissenting). At bottom, the Court's opinion is thus a rejection of the common sense of the American people, who have recognized a need to prevent corporations from undermining self-government since the founding, and who have fought against the distinctive corrupting potential of corporate electioneering since the days of Theodore Roosevelt. It is a strange time to repudiate that common sense. While American democracy is imperfect, few outside the majority of this Court would have thought its flaws included a dearthof corporate money in politics."
If it is in fact true that corporations are to be viewed as Individual Citizens. Then they should be arrested for treason, child abuse, abuse of the elderly, slavery and TREASON based on they're sending American jobs overseas to have their products made in sweat shops by child labor as we pointed out in this post, (link)lost your Job and blaming it on illegal immigration-HA!
While the extreme right wing rails against "illegal immigration" it is corporate America that, as pointed out in the above linked post, that has sought to pervert the law to bring in foreign workers to replace American Workers as the Economy was crashing, see: BANKS SOUGHT FOREIGN WORKERS AS SYSTEM CRASHED at the same time they were getting bailed out with "OUR" tax dollars.
Consider also the percentage of foreign ownership of of American Corporations, See: Now It's Their Turn to Buy U.S.
Consider also that most large "American" Corporations are no longer "American" Corporations. They are Multi-National Corporations operating wherever they can increase profits, contracting and making deals with whatever governmental ideology happens to be in power. Consider the head long rush of corporations striving to establish and expand a presence in Communist China.
Although some would have us believe that exposure to our American Corporations will help to lead to the democratization of China. They fail to account that Imperial China had been long exposed to American ideals prior to the Communist Revolution. That it has been the constant unrest by the rural peasant over ties to the land, poverty and being overtaxed that keeps China on the road to economic reform and hopefully someday Political reform.
Mighty Corporations historically, in collusion with the state, have led to Imperialism and subjugation of the native peoples they seek to profit from the labor and resources of. It was for profit that many "enlightened" countries turned a blind eye to "slavery". It has only been when people of heart and soul, as opposed to a heart defined as the bottom line, rise up us to throw of these Corporate/Economic chains of bondage that they become free.
That is how "AMERICAN INDIVIDUALS" became Americans, by throwing off the chains of the "British Empire".
When Corporations are made to take a citizenship test and "PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO AMERICA" and SWEAR AND OATH TO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION, then and only then should we EVEN consider whether or not they should be granted the same rights as an individual to participate in our "Democracy". After all, how many corporations are you aware of that run their businesses democratically, providing their employees with equal rights!"Add to Technorati Favorites
