"Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, for your hour of judgement has come...A mighty angel threw a great stone into the sea, saying, 'And this is how Babylon will be destroyed and will not be found any longer'...And the light will no longer shine from you...for your merchants and traders were the masters of the world, and all the nations were deceived by their tricks and treacheries. And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints." Rev 18:10-23
In the past the internet has been the last bastion of freedom. It was through the internet that news overlooked by the mainstream media, either sacrificed for ratings or corporate expense cut backs on investigative journalism, we could hope to be exposed to the truth!
Even at that, finding the truth necessitated slogging through reams of garbage to find what you were looking for and then more reams of garbage to validate it. Many bloggers have dedicated themselves to just that, finding and revealing the truth. I read reputable, sincere people on both the left and the right who despite differences in ideology have one thing in common, find the truth, present it to the American public, let the American public do with as they will.
Recent supreme court rulings have insured that our last venue for free speech, freedom of expression, freedom to debate ideology and a "real" free press will now be limited on a corporate whim for the sake of profit. The sickening part of all these developments is that we the American citizen have not only allowed it to happen, we have subsidized it with out tax dollars.
In other words we have paid for the right to become corporate slaves by virtue of allowing governments, federal to the lowliest municipality, to sell us to the wolves.
Our attempts to keep up on the rights violations and the corporate malfeasance which, with one eye blind and one hand out, our elected representatives have acted in collusion, are know swamped with the exponential rapidity with which these abuses are now occurring. Moores law can not come close to describing the acceleration of these events.
We had many pages bookmarked today for a number of possible posts. So many in fact, we can not do justice to one post before we face tomorrows deluge of more of the same.
If there has ever been a time when person with a love of freedom need to hit the computers and start engaging in a data dump to the brain the time is now. Because after a court decision today. That time is limited. And the information you seek may be gone.
Because of the overwhelming nature of information being dumped and time available I can only give you links and leave it to you to investigate. I think you will find that we have not been "chicken little's" hollering the sky is falling:
From Market watch:
What some may believe is a blow for free market capitalism is actually a thinly disguised ruse to enable Comcast and other providers to set up tier pricing programs to charge by the bandwidth you use. They allege they have had to this due to "Bandwidth hogs" that swap large files of information. Yet they do not seem to have any problem selling you a movie over that same bandwidth.WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday struck down rules that restrict Internet providers such as Comcast Corp. from dictating how their customers use the Internet. In a 3-0 vote, the U.S. Appeals Court for the District of Columbia ruled that the Federal Communications Commission lacks the authority to determine how Comcast and other Internet providers manage their networks. See court ruling against FCC.
The decision could reignite a simmering debate in Washington over whether new laws are needed to guarantee "Net Neutrality" -- the right of Internet customers to use the Web for almost any lawful purpose they want.
I pay for the bandwidth. I have now use for there content. I did not sign up for their content. I signed up for broadband.
Were any of these companies Free market capitalist that take risk with their own money it would be one thing. However they are not. They have received tax payer subsidies and tax breaks in the past, they will in the future and in a great many areas they operate as monopolies. This is not free market capitalism. It is government allowed corporate rape of the tax payer.
The road to this court ruling and the eventual take over of America by corporate greed, though drafted long ago, was officially made into law as we described in this post,
(link)The most DANGEROUS Suprme Court Ruling EVER - the end of DEMOCRACY
Wherein the the Supreme Court literally bestowed American citizenship on Corporate entities.
Many of these are corporations are entities who continue to break the law through doing business in Iran and others who profit from out sourcing American Manufacturing jobs to child slave labor in "frontier countries".
We kept trying to warn Tea Party folk and others that the real enemy is the corporate fat cats who purchase the morally bankrupt politicians we elect to represent us who then pay the corporations with our tax dollars!!!!!!
For instance see from Reuters: CEO's of bailed-out regional banks get raises
By Steve Eder
NEW YORK, April 5 (Reuters) - As 2009 came to a close, Fifth Third Bancorp (FITB.O) was preparing to report its sixth loss in seven quarters.
The Cincinnati-based regional bank had received $3.4 billion of TARP funds with no immediate plan to repay. And its Midwestern market was still struggling with a shrunken auto sector and high mortgage foreclosure rates.
Nonetheless, the board of Fifth Third, the nation's 17th-biggest bank, decided to increase the compensation of Chief Executive Kevin Kabat by 56 percent, to $5.2 million -- even though the bank was barred from paying him a bonus because of the bailout rules.
Fifth Third wasn't alone.
PNC Financial Services Group (PNC.N), Regions Financial (RF.N) and KeyCorp (KEY.N) -- all of which owed billions of dollars to taxpayers at the end of 2009 -- also increased their chiefs' pay. They too were prohibited by rules stemming from the U.S. Treasury's Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) from paying bonuses to their CEOs.
In the aftermath of the financial crisis, Wall Street banks and their pay practices have garnered national attention. Once Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N), Morgan Stanley (MS.N) and other banking giants repaid their bailouts last year, they quickly returned to setting aside billions of dollars for bonuses -- stoking the public's anger about the bailout.
Yet at the same time, Fifth Third, PNC, Regions, KeyCorp and other large heartland banks have been quietly approving pay increases for their top executives as well. Even banks that had yet to repay TARP money rewarded their bosses handsomely.
While far from Wall Street -- and away from the spotlight -- the pay practices of the so-called second tier banks are still a concern.
U.S. Rep. Peter Welch, a Democrat from Vermont who has proposed a tax on bonuses, called it a "rip-off" for banks still receiving taxpayer support to reward their CEOs with pay increases.
You can go here and learn how J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley and others are engaged in manipulating the gold markets the whole time thumbing their noses at the stupid regulators. How long did the SEC know about Bernie Madoff? If you can not trust that site you can go here to Zero Hedge, one of the most intelligent sites out there. Which we got to from here, Seeking Alpha, A well respected Financial site.
As we have always said when you want to know the truth, do not listen to the ideologues, follow the money!
And as Jim Cramer, whom I dearly admire and respect, does flip flops across the stage recommending a home builder with California and Florida exposure because we are entering a "turn around" I must keep in mind the following:
(link)Foreclosures Are Rising
The actual foreclosure numbers have been down recently because of all the modification efforts, but as we see more loans not qualifying for modifications and more loans defaulting on modifications, the foreclosure numbers rise.
And this is just the beginning. All the uniform policies and practices that the government has put in place, whether on modifications or short sales, will quicken the process. Foreclosures, which can now take 2 years plus to complete, will happen in less than a year, start to finish.
But then we all hear the talking heads talking about the great markets rally (on the backs of high technology, out sourced jobs and the few American workers making less than ever in "real" wages)
as insiders keep selling the stocks our retirement funds keep buying????????
See Sovereign Debt 'Mirrors' Subprime Crisis:
“I’m extraordinarily worried—we have taxes going up, rates going up, Greek problems, Portugal problems, UK problems and Japan problems—there are problems everywhere,” Tice told CNBC.
Tice warned investors not to be fooled by the current rally, which is an “echo bubble” that follows a market bubble—and normally “ends in tears.”
,220 is a significant resistance," he said of the S&P. "However, that’s where we started the big decline and we’re 3 percent out from there.”
“You look at risk reward…maybe it goes up 4 to 5 percent and could go down 40 percent and I don’t like those odds," he said.
I could go on as the evidence is legion. We and others have been presenting it over and over. If the drift has not been smelled by now then some have become immune to the smell of a barn yard! American Citizens like dear in the headlights want to wait until the election and by God, then we will show them.Tice added the sovereign debt issue is the next big concern for the markets.“The complacency that exists around sovereign debt really mirrors what happened in subprime,” he warned. “Governments have created their own bubbles in order to keep creating credit to overcome private credit demand shrinkage, and that’s the next big problem.”
Folk, that is the game. That is the illusion. Flock to the polls. Lets have a 90% turn out. Vote everyone of them out and replace them, regardless of party. Hell put all democrats in or all republicans, flip a coin. THE REALITY IS GAME OVER! THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN! WE ARE THE ONES THAT HELPED TO BREAK IT!
So lets all go to a capital building and rally. While were at it lets spit on a few folk and yell racial epithets throw a brick through a window and go home. That will fix it, right?
No significant change has been made in this country until the the disaffected, the oppressed, the down trodden, the mothers and fathers of kids killed over seas have hit the streets and said we will not take it anymore. We are not talking "nutless spitters". We are not talking about opportunist like the Palins of any movement. We are talking about peolpe of differing opinions who were able to put them aside long enough to set the government right at all costs.
