mideast/ Africa where US trades human dignity for cheap oil

Last night on CNN they were interviewing a female Libyan freedom fighter hiding while she was videoing the street action.  In one of her comments she mentioned how many who had listened to Obamas speech could not even find anything between the lines that gave them much hope for American assistance.

But what they have received is American politicians giving appropriate sound bytes while claiming  lack of power to do anything until they have met with U.N. and other world leaders to formulate a world response to a crises that we ourselves created by putting in power and paying the very mass murderers  the people are revolting against in the name of freedom and democracy.

Nobody yet has been able to figure out why Bush invaded Iraq (our contention, the oil rich Caspian sea). But apparently whatever threat they posed there was no ground swelling of Iraqi's asking  us to come in and help them establish a free democracy.  The Iraqi's were not fighting their oppressors with rocks and Molotov cocktails with the hope that we would come help liberate them.  In fact, correct me if I am wrong but wasn't "liberating them" from a tyrant that cared little about Human Rights an excuse we used for the invasion?

In this post, from 2007, US political and Corporate disregard for the foundations our country was built on  we wrote about the many totalitarian regimes we have supported throughout the world.  With American Taxpayer dollars that besides making us  the lowest of hypocrites, was dollars that we know today we could ill afford.
