Economy+oil spike=Recession, the new one coming

On February 22 of this year we posted the following: Double Dip, CYA as we all run out of money-are we stupid or what?  Wherein we posted a durable goods chart and existing home sales chart. No we have no problem admitting that we are not the brightest bulb on the shelf.  Because we know this then we also know that it is probably a good idea to seek out knowledge that we do not have.  Yeah we know that in the day of 2min sound bytes and fwd, fwd, fwd, experts, actually seeking out knowledge has become somewhat "passe".  And reading about economy is like really boring stuff.  The failure of the general public to take an interest in such things however is how the rich keep getting richer (my bet is that the rich have no idea what a fwd, fwd, fwd,....... is) and the poor just keep getting screwed.

However if the above two charts and what this chart indicates:

NO COW PICTURE TAKING! When Artie first sent me this, I'm thinking, nah this is a freaking joke. But then I guess it is a freaking joke. The only thing that could be funnier than making this up is to have it be true. But alas SB 1246 by Sen. Jim Norman Republican from Tampa, Florida has demonstrated to the rest of the world that Florida is suffering from permanent heat stroke.

    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to farms; prohibiting a person from
    3         entering onto a farm or photographing or video
    4         recording a farm without the owner’s written consent;
    5         providing a definition; providing penalties; providing
    6         an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. (1) A person who enters onto a farm or other
   11  property where legitimate agriculture operations are being
   12  conducted without the written consent of the owner, or an
   13  authorized representative of the owner, commits a felony of the
   14  first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083,
   15  or s. 775.084, Florida Statutes.
   16         (2) A person who photographs, video records, or otherwise
   17  produces images or pictorial records, digital or otherwise, at
   18  or of a farm or other property where legitimate agriculture
   19  operations are being conducted without the written consent of
   20  the owner, or an authorized representative of the owner, commits
   21  a felony of the first degree, punishable as provided in s.
   22  775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084, Florida Statutes.
   23         (3) As used in this section, the term “farm” includes any
   24  tract of land cultivated for the purpose of agricultural
   25  production, the raising and breeding of domestic animals, or the
   26  storage of a commodity.
   27         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.

Really now, just who is it that Sir Jim Norman is trying to protect? But then we came across of these exclusive pictures of lobbyists that have  been seen going in and out of Sen, Normans office:

Motorcycle checkpoints NOT about money, NOT about safety, its about YOU

We have spent much time browsing various sites and forums searching out info about the Georgia motorcycle checkpoints.  Unfortunately very little of what we found was based in fact and all to much is/was as nicker, on Custom Bike Builder Cyril Hughes Blog observes:

The unfortunate reality of those who call themselves “bikers” today is,
-1- They don’t know the Constitution
-2- They don’t know History or its implications.
-3- And worst of all….. They by-and-large don’t care.
All they do is prattle banality like “…all i wanna do is ride…”
Probably a good bet that those who think they can “… stand this amount of harassment in my world…” are also those who are most likely to be a victim of a “bad judgment” accident.

Our unfortunate observation is that,

A. He is probably right
B. His scenario could be expanded to include most Americans

All to often we ran across statements similiar to the following;

I’ve left my paper work at home many times and it’s never causes me to crash.
It’s a fund raiser for the the state of georgia. The police are the tax collectors.

Or:

Guess we will have to bypass Georgia

And from those totally out of touch:

I live and ride in Georgia. I don’t have even the slightest problem with the checkpoints. This is really, really, simple stuff. Ride within the law.
“For the average operator with the proper license and equipment, the delay should be about a minute,”  I think I can stand this amount of harrassment in my world.

Vietnam Vet Major Albert Mitchell, Jr., USAF, R.I.P.

Maj. Mitchell served his country proudly by serving in the United States Air force reaching the rank of Major before retiring in 1983. Please help pay Maj. Mitchell and his family the honor and respect they deserve. His two daughters are currently serving in the Air Force, both as Lt. Colonels. Major Mitchell was a Viet Nam veteran.
