According to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, ideology
more specifically abortion, will take precedence over economy in negotiating as to whether or not government shuts down. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell responds with "This is the only proposal out there that keeps the government open, If a shutdown does occur, our Democratic friends have no one to blame but themselves."
I am a firm believer that in a perfect world we would all seek the higher moral ground. But in a perfect world we would have a perfect definition of what is moral and what isn't.
Living in a far from perfect world, I often times wrestle with with the rights and wrongs of a thing. I often find that a persons belief system is highly subject to change, depending on circumstances and events. I do know one thing, based on past and present indiscretions, the last people I want lecturing me on morality and/or ideology are legislative pimps for bankers and corporations who on many occasions have had difficulties keeping their own zippers shut.
