Heather Ireland and Poplar Road coming to Crawfordville, FL

In the middle of going ballistic over the insanity of life, this from Heather Ireland and Poplar Road pops in my mailbox and everything was o.k. with the world.  In all seriousness folk. Heather Ireland is
from just down the road in Cairo, Georgia.  She has recently been voted in top 12 female vocalist in Georgia. She and her band played at the second annual PGR/VNV of America poker run in our area.

At the last minute the day before she was to go on she got sick and was ordered to bed.  This is what I wrote at that time:

Kudo's to Heather who was told to stay in bed by her Dr. but crawled out to do this gig with  her band at  no charge because it was for the Vets.  Folks if you haven't heard this group make it your mission to do so. These folk are gonna be the next big ticket fer sure. Country to Southern Rock they got it covered. IF you left early you missed out. Something happened as eve came close and them folk pulled out all the stops and bout burnt up the equipment.

Those of us that stuck around were like Damnnnnnn.

Now this little widget doesn't show the magic that happened that eve.  My bet. You show up at Dux in Crawfordville July 8th and it will happen.

Be advised, we get nothing out of doing this for Heather.  She did the PGR and the Vietnam vets a solid.  My thinking is when someone does you a solid you return the favor.  Check her and her band out while we can still afford the price of admission.Add to Technorati Favorites

Welcome to the end of free market capitalism-the world agrees to drop the price of oil.

In a coordinated effort after Bernanke's press conference yesterday the IEA, International Energy Agency, engaged in a concerted effort to drop the price of oil.  Interestingly enough Goldman Sachs flip flopped once again on the price of oil only proving what has been known all along.  They have the inside ear of the fed.

Although we agree that rampant speculation in the markets needs to be addressed, we have concerns when it is a concerted effort by free world countries.

The amount of oil that is in reserves that can actually be released is miniscule compared to world demand.  The markets short term knee jerk reaction when even the US defense department has accepted the reality of peak oil means that we have just shot ourselves in the foot kicking the can further down the road!

While we artificially drop the price on oil do we have any guarantee that China is not going to buy every cheap barrel they can?

Reality dictates that when you create an artificially low price you will increase demand adding fuel to the peak oil fire.

Yes we have discovered much new oil.  However anyone who has looked at the new oil that's been discovered knows that it cost more to retrieve it.  The wells are not as long lived and as some have learned the results of "fracking" can set  your drinking water on fire!

This is nothing more than an artificial short term fix to a long term structural economic problem.

What commodity will the "council of world governments???" target next???

If obvious manipulation of world wide events leading up to today's action do not sound the alarm bells in the minds of free men then it is truly over.
