Re: ABATE Membership

Dear Mr. Herlilty:
Please be advised this office represents ABATE of Florida Inc., as General Counsel. At the July board meeting for the Corporation, your publicized comments against ABATE were discussed. It was noted that your comments were untruthful and derogatory, and generally harmful to the good of ABATE.
Based upon the above, a vote was taken by the Board and it has been unanimously agreed that your membership in Abate is terminated.
PLEASE GOVERN YOURSELF ACCORDINGLY.

I was scheduled to leave the next morning to cover an event in West Virginia and then continue on to Sturgis so it did take me a little time to respond. I sent Larry Crow a letter by Certified Mail from Nemo South Dakota on August 13, 2011

Where the Hell is Ron Paul???????

August 17 after Ron Paul ran a close second to Bachmann in her home sate during the Iowa straw poll we posted, Ron Who? Ron Paul? Who is that? (with video) asking why he is being ignored by the media?

We find the question even more valid today. Romney and Perry did not run in Iowa. Yet they are listed as front runners.  All Perry had to do to get listed as a front runner was say he was going to run?????

How does that work???  The most intelligent voice on the conservative/libertarian side is, without question Ron Paul.  Yet Let a Yippie ki yay gun totin yay hoo come out of Texas and say, "Ya'll I think I'm gonna run for that there Presidents job."  And Bingo he shoots to the top. Romney is factored in somewhere, we think it's on a boat somewhere so he can flip and flop like his friends the fish and his other friends the "corporations are people."

Does this not call into question the real bias of the mass media???   We know that many consider the Mass news media other than Fox (whoops were sorry, that's a faux news station) Liberal leaning.  However judging by their predisposition to focus on "stupid" we have to conclude they have no left or conservative bias.  They have a stupid bias.  After all, did they not devote much air time to Joke Trump?

We find this to be the strangest set of events we could imagine.  The most intelligent candidate with the  most integrity (wish he would clarify that race thing a bit) is ignored and "Stupid" becomes the new normal.

You will have to excuse me now. Perry is talkin.  I swear to god it's better than Americas got talent!

P.S. re: Fox: Since the Rupert Mess in England we must admit, Fox does appear to be making some changes.  I do not believe that just came out of my out loud key board.Add to Technorati Favorites

Governor Rick Perrys Christian friends would scare the hell out of Jesus

Yeah I know that there are a heap that do not like Rachel Maddow because she is gay and smarter than most. We ignore the gay and focus on the smart. After all don't you think enough attention is paid to the Perrys, Bachmanns, and the Perrys in the world. So get past your feelings on Maddow and listen to the truth contained in this video. When I go to bed tonight I'm not only praying but looking under the bed for bogey men! Are we supposed to say an Amen here or something?Add to Technorati Favorites

Rep. Lamar Smith aims to "Embarrass President" at risk of jobs?

Rep. Lamar Smith Wants Hearings To "Embarrass The President"

August 22, 2011 10:24 am ET — Matt Gertz
Rep. Lamar Smith
On Thursday, Roll Call reported that Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) was planning to use his House Judiciary Committee gavel this fall to promote a "jobs agenda." This would represent a significant shift for a committee that has largely been focused on radical attacks on undocumented immigrants.

But later that day, the Obama administration announced that it would begin reviewing the cases of the 300,000 illegal immigrants currently awaiting deportation and prioritize the expulsion of the more dangerous criminal violators, rather than targeting low-level immigration offenders for deportation.

Smith quickly abandoned his "jobs agenda," telling right-wing radio host Joe Pagliarulo that he was now planning to hold hearings on the subject with the avowed purpose of trying to "embarrass the President." Smith also suggested that the House Appropriations Committee would defund the administration's ability to implement their plan.

A Thank You to all Vietnam Vets from a Marine in Iraq

H/T to Moose and a former President of the Gold Star Mothers Org....her son was KIA in my last unit in the NAM and she has been active in all Veterans Affairs, etc for the past 40+ years.  A remarkable woman (emails and certain names have been deleted by request.

A guy gets time to think over here and I was thinking about all the support we get from home. Sometimes it's overwhelming. We get care packages at times faster than we can use them. There are boxes and boxes of toiletries and snacks lining the center of every tent; the generosity has been amazing. So, I was pondering the question: "Why do we have so much support?"

In my opinion, it all came down to one thing: Vietnam Veterans. I think we learned a lesson, as a nation, that no matter what, you have to support the troops who are on the line, who are risking everything. We treated them so poorly back then. When they returned was even worse. The stories are nightmarish of what our returning warriors were subjected to. It is a national scar, a blemish on our country, an embarrassment to all of us.

After Vietnam , it had time to sink in. The guilt in our collective consciousness grew. It shamed us. However, we learned from our mistake. Somewhere during the late 1970's and on into the 80's, we realized that we can't treat our warriors that way. So ... Starting during the Gulf War, when the first real opportunity arose to stand up and support the troops, we did. We did it to support our friends and family going off to war. But we also did it to right the wrongs from the Vietnam era. We treat our troops of today like the heroes they were, and are, acknowledge and celebrate their sacrifice, and rejoice at their homecoming ... Instead of spitting on them.

And that support continues today for those of us in Iraq . Our country knows that it must support us and it does. The lesson was learned in Vietnam and we are all better because of it.

Everyone who has gone before is a hero. They are celebrated in my heart. I think admirably of all those who have gone before me. From those who fought to establish this country in the late 1770's to those I serve with here in Iraq . They have all sacrificed to ensure our freedom. But when I get back home, I'm going to make it a personal mission to specifically thank every Vietnam Vet I encounter for THEIR sacrifice. Because if nothing else good came from that terrible war, one thing did. It was the lesson learned on how we treat our warriors. We as a country learned from our mistake and now we treat our warriors as heroes, as we should have all along. I am the beneficiary of their sacrifice. Not only for the freedom they, like veterans from other wars, ensured, but for how well our country now treats my fellow Marines and I. We are the beneficiaries of their sacrifice.

Semper Fidelis,

Major Brian P. Bresnahan
United States Marine Corps
