Occupy Wall Street to March on Washington
(NEW YORK) — Occupy Wall Street is going on the road — a two-week walk to Washington.
A small group of activists plans to leave Manhattan's Zuccotti Park at noon Wednesday and arrive by the Nov. 23 deadline for a congressional committee to decide whether to keep President Barack Obama's extension of Bush-era tax cuts. Protesters say the cuts benefit only rich Americans.(See "Tensions Mount at Occupy Wall Street Protests.")
The announcement came the same day that David Crosby and Graham Nash, of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, planned an acoustic performance in the park for supports and passers-by.

Apple wants it's employees to be Union Aware
![]() |
| mac, mac, please come back from the darkside |
Apple has begun planning how to respond if its retail employees unionize, CNET has learned.
In an internal document obtained by CNET, the company posted information about a training course on the topic, which takes place tomorrow morning and is required to be taken by all new store managers.
"This course is intended to provide managers with a practical understanding of how unions affect the workplace, how and why employees organize, and the legal do's and don'ts of dealing with unions," the training description reads. "This is a mandatory class for all new managers, and is required biannually for all managers."
The posting adds that the course "is a great opportunity to meet our legal team and ask any questions you may have."
The move comes about six months after an employee-driven effort unionize Apple's retail workers. That store-by-store effort, called the Apple Retail Workers Union, cited Apple for providing poor compensation to its part time employees, as well as calling attention to alleged deficiencies in Apple's "break schedules, training opportunities," and "the selection and hiring process for internal candidates for open positions."
An Apple spokesman declined to comment.

This bill gets introduced every year and then sits and dies in committee without action despite the promise of legislators that say they support passage of this bill, get listed as co-sponsors and then do NOTHING! WILL IT DIE AGAIN THIS YEAR?
Advise Mr. Drier and Mr. Cantor that should this bill receive no hearing again, as in past years, you will engage in any and all actions to insure the nation knows of their inaction and will work diligently for their defeat. Time is running out!
Help create jobs for Christmas
H/T to Moose passin on what was passed on to him which probably needs to be passed on to all. It just makes so much sense in these economic times.
As the holidays approach, the giant Asian
factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with monstrous
piles of cheaply produced goods -- merchandise that has been produced
at the expense of American labor. This year will be different. This year
Americans will give the gift of genuine concern for other Americans.
There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Oh.... Yes there is!
